The Barnes Harvest Collection in caliber .223 Remington combines Barnes' high load standards with the 4.5 g / 69 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing (TGK). The load is designed for hunting use and combines a precision-oriented, aerodynamically favorable bullet shape with reliable expansion and good energy retention over distance. The used Sierra Tipped GameKing is a lead-core jacketed bullet with a polymer tip and boat-tail pointed profile. The streamlined shape reduces air resistance and supports a flat trajectory. At the same time, the bullet construction is designed for reliable expansion over a wide range of hunting impact velocities. With a ballistic coefficient of G1 0.370, the Barnes load achieves a muzzle velocity of 3,000 fps or about 914 m/s. The manufacturer-specified muzzle energy is 1,379 ft-lb or about 1,870 J. Even at 200 yd / 182.9 m, the velocity is still about 763 m/s with approximately 1,303 J. Barnes assigns the finished cartridge to the purpose Hunting as well as the categories Medium Game and Varmint. The combination of the comparatively heavy 69-gr bullet for .223 Remington and the high ballistic coefficient ensures good velocity and energy retention and makes the load especially interesting for hunting applications where precision and external ballistics play an important role. The ballistics published by Barnes extend up to 500 yd / 457.2 m. At this distance, the bullet still reaches about 565 m/s and approximately 715 J according to the manufacturer. The trajectory table is based on a zeroing distance of 200 yd. Note on bullet construction: This Harvest Collection load is not lead-free. Barnes uses a Sierra Tipped GameKing with lead core, jacket, and polymer tip. It is not a Barnes TSX, TTSX, or other lead-free Barnes copper bullet. Barnes Harvest Collection .223 Rem. 4,5 g / 69 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing Jagdmunition – 20 Stück #32397
1.870 J / 1.379 ft-lbEinsatzzweck laut HerstellerHuntingWildkategorie laut BarnesMedium Game, VarmintBleifreiNeinPackungsinhalt20 PatronenBox UPC716876500017Case UPC716876700011Ballistische DatenEntfernungGeschwindigkeitEnergieFlugbahnMündungca. 914 m/sca. 1.870 J–91,4 m / 100 ydca. 837 m/sca. 1.566 J+4,1 cm182,9 m / 200 ydca. 763 m/sca. 1.303 J0 cm274,3 m / 300 ydca. 693 m/sca. 1.075 J-18,0 cm365,8 m / 400 ydca. 627 m/sca. 880 J-53,3 cm457,2 m / 500 ydca. 565 m/sca. 715 J-109,5 cmDie ballistischen Ausgangswerte stammen von Barnes.
