MGCR 556 GBBR 12" – Gas Blow Back Airsoft Rifle from G&G for versatile outdoor setups The MGCR 556 GBBR 12" from G&G Armament is the longest version within the MGCR Gas Blow Back series and combines the modern ergonomics of an AR platform with a realistic mechanical GBBR system. With an overall length of about 821.1 mm, a weight of around 3,210 g, and the longer 316.8 mm inner barrel, the 12-inch version is especially aimed at players looking for a full-fledged Gas Blow Back platform for outdoor fields and versatile applications. The Gas Blow Back system moves the bolt with every shot, creating a clearly noticeable mechanical recoil impulse. Together with the realistic 30-round magazine and the AR-typical operating procedures, this results in a much more authentic playing experience than with a classic electric airsoft. The German version is delivered exclusively with semi-automatic single-shot function (Semi Only), carries the legally required F-marking in a pentagon, and may only be sold to persons aged 18 and over. G&G’s own MGCR Gas Blow Back platform With the MGCR series, G&G has developed its own Gas Blow Back rifle platform. The series is offered in different lengths, allowing a targeted selection according to the preferred area of use. While the shorter MGCR versions are primarily designed for maximum maneuverability, the 12-inch version offers a full configuration with a longer inner barrel and correspondingly larger handguard. Unlike a classic AEG or S-AEG, the MGCR requires neither gearbox nor electric motor or battery. The energy for the shot and the movement of the bolt is provided by Green Gas contained in the magazine. This causes the bolt to move mechanically with every shot and produces the characteristic combination of recoil impulse, sound, and realistic operation typical of a GBBR. Robust metal construction with aluminum bolt and steel trigger group The MGCR 556 GBBR 12" features a robust metal construction and weighs about 3,210 g. The higher weight and longer design ensure solid and stable handling and emphasize the realistic character of this Gas Blow Back platform. G&G uses a lightweight aluminum bolt for the moving bolt. The reduced moving mass supports fast cycling and at the same time contributes to better gas efficiency, as less energy is needed to move the bolt during the firing cycle. Additionally, the MGCR has a bolt impact dampening system in the area of the gas tube that reduces mechanical stress during bolt movement. Even in the particularly stressed trigger group, G&G relies on upgraded steel components from the factory. This ensures that important mechanical areas of the GBBR are robustly designed for the recurring stresses during shooting. 30-round Green Gas magazine for realistic GBBR handling Included is an original G&G MGCR Green Gas magazine with a capacity of 30 BBs. The magazine handles both the feeding of the 6 mm BBs and the gas supply for the blow-back system. The realistic capacity of 30 rounds supports the authentic character of the MGCR and makes tactical magazine changes and conscious ammunition management an important part of the game. The matching original G&G G-08-175 MGCR GBBR gas magazine also features an integrated dry-fire function. This allows the platform to be used for handling and function exercises without having to regularly fire BBs. Additional G-08-175 magazines are available separately and are a useful addition for longer game days. Optionally also usable with AirTac HPA adapter and M4 magazines A particularly in
An interesting advantage of the MGCR platform is the option to alternatively operate the gas blow-back system via a separately available AirTac MGCR to M4 HPA adapter. The plug-&-play adapter is compatible with the G&G MGCR series and allows the blow-back system to be supplied via an external, regulated HPA compressed air supply. The AirTac adapter is inserted directly into the MGCR instead of the normal green gas magazine and comes complete with valve, gas router, and feed lips. Therefore, an original GBBR magazine does not need to be used as a donor magazine, nor disassembled or modified. Another big advantage of the system is the ability to use commercially available M4 AEG magazines. AirTac especially recommends magazines with a strong feed spring like the PTS EPM1 or EPM1-S. This allows significantly larger BB capacities to be used in HPA operation than with the standard 30-round gas magazine. Depending on personal preference, the MGCR can thus be played in two different ways: classic and particularly authentic with the original G&G G-08-175 30-round green gas magazine or alternatively with the AirTac HPA adapter and M4 AEG magazines. The mechanical gas blow-back function and the movement of the bolt remain intact even in HPA operation. The AirTac adapter additionally features a BB retention mechanism that reduces the loss of BBs during magazine changes. The modular system also allows the use of other compatible AirTac magazine bases. Important: For HPA operation, a suitable HPA compressed air tank, a secondary regulator, and a matching HPA line are required. The adapter must only be operated with regulated compressed air. The maximum operating pressure specified by the manufacturer of 150 PSI must not be exceeded. Adjustable Hop-Up and 316.8 mm Inner Barrel The 12-inch version features a 316.8 mm long inner barrel and an adjustable hop-up system. The hop-up allows precise adjustment of the backspin to the BB weight used and is therefore crucial for a stable trajectory, good range, and reproducible shooting results. The longer inner barrel clearly distinguishes the 12-inch version from the more compact MGCR variants and fits the focus of this model as a full-fledged outdoor and all-round platform. For the actually achievable precision, besides the inner barrel, a clean hop-up tuning and high-quality, consistent BBs are particularly important. The actual muzzle energy can vary depending on the version and delivery batch. Additionally, the green gas used, ambient and gas temperature, BB weight, and hop-up setting influence the measured energy of a gas blow-back system. Therefore, the specific German F version of the delivered model is decisive. For the MGCR, we recommend high-quality 6 mm BBs, for example from G&G, BLS, or Delta Armory Diamond. The optimal BB weight should be chosen according to the actual performance of the respective model, hop-up tuning, and conditions on the field. Modern Operation and Balanced AR Ergonomics The MGCR combines its realistic gas blow-back system with the familiar ergonomics of a modern AR platform. The controls are designed for fast and intuitive operation and support realistic handling when loading, shooting, and changing magazines. The adjustable stock allows individual adjustment of the overall length to body size, cheek weld, and worn equipment. In the German F version, only Safe and Semi are available. A fully automatic firing function, as may be present in international versions, is not usable in the German version. 12-Inch M-LOK Handguard for Versatile Accessory Setups The longer 12-inch build offers particularly plenty of space for an individue
The complete configuration of the MGCR. The modern M-LOK handguard allows the mounting of compatible front grips, hand stops, lights, and other Airsoft accessories without making the platform unnecessarily wide. On top, there is a Picatinny rail for red dot sights, scopes, magnifiers, and other compatible optics. Especially for a longer outdoor configuration, the 12-inch MGCR offers enough options to customize the setup to your personal play style. Folding front and rear sights allow the use of the rifle even without additional optics. The adjustable stock supports both more compact cheek welds and a longer, stable shoulder position.
The MGCR 12" for outdoor and versatile fields
With an overall length of about 821.1 mm, a weight of around 3,210 g, and a 316.8 mm inner barrel, the MGCR 556 GBBR 12" is the longest of the three MGCR versions. It is aimed especially at players who place less value on maximum CQB compactness and instead prefer a full-grown, balanced GBBR for outdoor fields and medium Airsoft distances. The longer front also offers more space for accessories and provides a different handling than the particularly compact 7-inch version or the universally designed 10-inch variant. If you are looking for an MGCR with a full rifle feel, the 12-inch version offers the appropriate configuration. Thanks to the optional AirTac HPA adapter, the platform remains extremely flexible: besides the classic green gas operation with realistic 30-round magazines, the MGCR can also be converted to an HPA setup with M4 AEG magazines.
Scope of delivery
Included in the delivery is the G&G MGCR 556 GBBR 12" gas blowback Airsoft rifle in black, an original G&G MGCR green gas magazine with a capacity of 30 BBs, and the user manual. Green gas, 6-mm BBs, optics, tracer units, the AirTac HPA adapter, HPA bottle, regulator, HPA line, and other accessories possibly shown in product images are not included and must be purchased separately if needed.
Note: For reliable function in classic gas operation, we recommend high-quality green gas with an operating pressure suitable for the MGCR.
