The Haptics
When it comes to handling the Walther PDP Full Size 4.5“, two factory-developed technologies from Walther are worth mentioning: SuperTerrain Serrations refers to the raised grip grooves at the front and rear of the slide. Even in wet weather, fingers do not slip while reloading. Performance Duty Texture refers to the surface of the grip, which, with its tetrahedral structure, does not irritate the skin even during prolonged firm gripping and allows the hand to become one with the pistol. The arrangement of the elements allows for intuitive operation of the pistol, enabling complete concentration on the target. Even when used with gloves, the PDP Full Size 4.5“ is reliable and precise.
The Ergonomic Design
In addition to its surface, the shape of the grip has also been modified. It has been extended by 8 mm compared to the Compact version. Grip length and barrel length are thus in a balanced ratio. The end of the grip is designed to provide support for the little finger. The grip angle automatically leads to optimal trigger behavior. This is accompanied by the optimization of position, travel, and pressure point of the trigger, a Performance Duty Trigger. The trigger is intuitive and controlled, reachable with the finger in 70 mm. The pressure point is at 25 N, and the crystal-clear break increases accuracy.
The Magazine
The capacity of the magazine has been increased by 3 rounds to 18 in the PDP Full Size 4.5“. The staggered cartridge chamber allows for reliable feeding of the cartridge, which provides the PDP with more muzzle energy and reduces residue in the pistol. A loaded chamber indicator signals whether the pistol is loaded. The PDP features trigger, firing pin, and safety (interrupter) safeties.
The Acro C-2 from Aimpoint
This robust red dot sight is built to withstand the extreme demands of use on a semi-automatic pistol. Its design optimally protects the fully enclosed sight from all environmental influences. The red dot, with a size of 3.5 MOA, is adjustable in 10 levels, two of which are compatible with night vision devices. 5 years of continuous use at a daylight setting of 6/10 is absolutely no problem with the CR2032 battery. Its replacement can be done without disassembling the sight.

Die Haptik
Wenn es um das Handling der Walther PDP Full Size 4,5“ geht, sind zwei von Walther werkseitig entwickelte Technologien zu nennen: SuperTerrain Serrations meint die erhobenen Greifrillen vorne und hinten am Verschluss. Auch bei nassem Wetter rutschen die Finger beim Durchladen nicht ab. Performance Duty Texture bezieht sich auf die Oberfläche des Griffs, die mit ihrer Tetraeder-Struktur auch bei langem festem Zupacken die Haut nicht reizt und die Hand haptisch mit der Pistole eins werden lässt. Die Anordnung der Elemente erlaubt ein intuitives Bedienen der Pistole, man kann sich vollkommen auf das Ziel konzentrieren. Auch im Einsatz mit Handschuhen ist die PDP Full Size 4,5“ zuverlässig und präzise.
Die ergonomische Konstruktion
Neben seiner Oberfläche wurde auch die Form des Griffes modifiziert. Er wurde gegenüber der Compact-Version um 8 mm verlängert. Grifflänge und Lauflänge stehen damit in einem ausgewogenen Verhältnis. Das Ende des Griffs ist so angelegt, dass es dem kleinen Finger Halt gibt. Der Griffwinkel führt automatisch zu einem optimalen Deutverhalten. Damit einher geht die Optimierung von Position, Weg und Druckpunkt des Abzugs, ein Performance Duty Trigger. Der Abzug ist intuitiv und kontrolliert zugleich in 70 mm mit dem Finger zu erreichen. Der Druckpunkt liegt bei 25 N, das glasklare Brechen erhöht die Treffsicherheit.
Das Magazin
Die Kapazität des Magazins wurde bei der PDP Full Size 4,5“ um 3 Patronen auf 18 erweitert. Das gestufte Patronenlager ermöglicht eine zuverlässige Liderung der Hülse, was der PDP mehr Mündungsenergie beschert und den Schmauch in der Pistole reduziert. Eine Geladenanzeige meldet, ob durchgeladen ist. An Sicherungen hat die PDP Abzugs-, Schlagbolzen- und Schützensicherung (Unterbrecher).
Das Acro C-2 von Aimpoint
Dieses robuste Rotpunktvisier ist den extremen Anforderungen beim Einsatz auf einer halbautomatischen Pistole gewachsen. Seine Bauweise schützt das vollständig geschlossene Visier optimal vor allen Umwelteinflüssen. Der Rotpunkt mit einer Größe von 3,5 MOA ist in 10 Stufen einstellbar, wovon zwei die mit Nachtsichtgeräten kompatiblen Einstellungen sind. 5 Jahre Dauereinsatz bei einer Tageslichteinstellung von 6/10 sind mit der CR2032 Batterie absolut kein Problem. Ihr Austausch kann ohne die Demontage des Visieres erfolgen.
