The Springfield Echelon Compact is a new and innovative pistol that stands out primarily due to its modular solution for optics mounting. Manufactured by the Croatian company HS Produkt, which has a long-standing cooperation with Springfield in the field of handguns, the Echelon offers state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and practical ergonomics and modular design.
The centerpiece is the combined trigger unit with barrel mount and guide rails. This unit can be easily removed and swapped between grip frames, meaning the grip frames do not constitute essential parts under German firearms law, as this function is performed by this "Central Operating Group." The unit is made of stainless steel. The standard configuration always includes the medium grip frame, and each Echelon is delivered with 3 interchangeable backstraps, allowing the shooter to customize the grip to their preferences. The haptics are optimized for use under all conditions and provide not only the shooting hand with optimal grip but also feature texturing at various points on the grip frame to give all fingers and the support hand a secure hold.
All controls are ambidextrous, and even the magazine release button does not need to be modified for left-handed use, while the trigger guard is enlarged and can be operated with gloves. The slide is heavily textured to facilitate easy loading. The front and rear of the slide feature integrated steps to ensure a secure grip when manipulating the weapon. The rigid 3-point night sight is made of steel and can be used for loading at barricades. The cold-forged barrel and slide are Melonite-coated for high corrosion resistance and longevity.
But what is truly special about the Echelon is the optics mounting. This is fully modular, and no adapter plates are needed to mount a variety of optics.

Die Springfield Echelon Compact ist eine neue und innovative Pistole, welche vor allem durch ihre modulare Lösung der Optikmontage hervorsticht. Gefertigt von der kroatischen Firma HS Produkt, welche mit Springfield eine lange Kooperation im Bereich Kurzwaffen vorweisen kann, bietet die Echelon modernste Fertigungstechniken und praxisorientierte Ergonomie und modularen Design.
Das Herzstück bildet die kombinierte Abzugseinheit mit Laufhalterung und Führungsschienen. Diese Einheit kann einfach ausgebaut und zwischen Griffstücken gewechselt werden, wodurch die Griffstücke keine wesentlichen Teile nach deutschen WaffG darstellen, da diese Funktion von dieser "Central Operating Group" wahrgenommen wird. Die Einheit ist aus Stainless Steel gefertigt. Als Standard ist immer das mittlere Griffstück verbaut und jede Echelon wird mit 3 wechselbaren Griffrücken ausgeliefert So kann der Schütze den Griff nach seinen Wünschen anpassen. Die Haptik selber ist optimiert auf den Einsatz unter allen Bedingungen und bietet nicht nur der Schießhand optimalen Halt, sondern verfügt auch über Texturierungen an verschiedenen Stellen des Griffstücks, um allen Fingern und der Unterstützungshand sicheren Halt zu geben.
Alle Bedienelemente sind beidseitig bedienbar, selbst der Magazinlöseknopf muss nicht umgebaut werden, um von Linkshändern verwendet zu werden, und der Abzugsbügel ist vergrößert und kann mit Handschuhen bedient werden. Der Schlitten ist stark texturiert, um ein einfaches Durchladen zu ermöglichen. Vorne und hinten verfügt der Schlitten über eingearbeitete Stufen damit die Hand auch wirklich sicher sitzt, wenn die Waffe manipuliert wird. Das starre 3-Punktvisier ist nachttauglich und aus Stahl gefertigt, die Kimme kann dadurch zum Durchladen an Barrikaden verwendet werden. Der kaltgeschmiedete Lauf und der Schlitten sind Melonite-beschichtet - für eine hohe Korrosionsbeständigkeit und Lebensdauer.
Aber das wirklich besondere an der Echelon ist die Optikmontage. Diese ist vollständig modular ausgeführt und man benötigt keine Adapterplatten, um eine Vielzahl von Optiken zu montieren.
