One of the groundbreaking features of the Nexus press is the dual stop system, where interchangeable stops precisely end the movement of the floating die block at the exact same point with each individual cycle of the press, resulting in perfect size determination and consistency. With the Nexus, there is no longer a need for the contact of the shell holder with the bottom of the tool. We found that the traditional design causes stress for the reloading press and the sizing or seating die, so we have brought the Nexus press to a stop independently of the shell holder with our hard stops. The Nexus press comes with (2) pairs of stops, one for the top dead center (for venting or inserting the bullet) and one for the cam (for sizing the brass). With the installed stops for sizing, the press travels 2° beyond the top dead center, ensuring that the same amount of sizing occurs with each stroke.
Another innovative feature of the Nexus press is the floating shell holder system, which is also quick and tool-free to change. This is comparable to the floating bolt head of a custom rifle action. The shell holder centers itself on the die every time, as it is "floating" mounted. Due to the hard stops that decouple any contact between the die and the shell holder, we were able to design the shell holder system shorter, allowing for 0.010″ more sizing than any other shell holders on the market. So if you are having trouble getting enough size out of your dies, you no longer need to modify them; the Nexus press takes that headache out of the equation. The press comes with the four most common shell holders: 223 Bolt Face, 308 Bolt Face, PRC/Magnum Bolt Face, and Lapua Magnum Bolt Face. Additional shell holders can be purchased a la carte.
The die retention system is completely unique; it is radially floating, so your die is perfectly centered with each stroke. Two locks hold the die in the press but still work with any standard lock ring available on the market today. Of course, it was also designed for our Solo Lock Rings, one of which we also provide with each Nexus press.
Additionally, the Nexus press features storage areas for all your shell holders or dies and the replacement hard stops. There are also two 8×32 threaded holes where you can install small brushes to assist with brass preparation.
