Fred Barnes, founder of Barnes Bullets, began selling bullets in 1932 from his basement workshop in Bayfield, Colorado.
Randy and Coni Brooks purchased the company in 1974 and relocated it to American Fork, Utah.
Fred Barnes stayed for several months to advise the couple. Randy and Coni were young in their careers, but what they lacked in experience, they made up for with courage and determination. Both are passionate hunters, and their love for the sport provided them with the firsthand experience and knowledge to lead Barnes Bullets to success.
In the fall of 1985, Randy came up with the idea of an expanding bullet made of pure copper while hunting brown bears in Alaska. Coni was skeptical about the idea of forgoing lead, but after a few successful hunts with Randy's prototypes, they knew they were onto something that would raise the bar for bullet performance.
Their prototype became the world-famous X Bullet® and changed hunters' perspectives on bullet construction and terminal performance.
In 1989, Barnes launched the X Bullet and became the market leader in bullet innovation. Today, Barnes products enjoy great trust and respect among hunters and shooters worldwide.

Ihr Prototyp wurde zum weltberühmten X Bullet® und veränderte die Sichtweise der Jäger auf die Geschosskonstruktion und die Endleistung.
Im Jahr 1989 brachte Barnes das X Bullet auf den Markt und wurde zum Marktführer im Bereich der Geschossinnnovation. Heute genießen Barnes-Produkte bei Jägern und Schützen auf der ganzen Welt großes Vertrauen und Respekt.
