The "Kånken" was originally produced to prevent spinal damage in Swedish schoolchildren. Shortly after its introduction, it became indispensable in kindergartens and has saved millions of children from spinal injuries 35 years later. Even today, this success story of the classic continues and has also established itself as a backpack for, for example, office and travel. In the Kånken 2.0, the durable and proven G-1000® Heavy Duty material (double waxed) is used instead of Vinylon F (the material of the original Kånken). This makes the backpack even more robust and, with leather details, a bit more elegant. A large zipper opening allows for easy filling of the main compartment. Additional storage is provided by the two open side pockets and the zippered pocket on the front. The rear interior pocket is made of G-1000® Lite in the 2.0 version. As a gimmick, Fjällräven has included a seat cushion made of G-1000® Heavy Duty in each interior pocket of the Kånken 2.0 backpack. This not only serves as a seating option but also protects against the contents of the backpack pressing through to the back. Visually discreet yet memorable, the Kånken can be carried both as an "office bag" and as an outdoor companion. The carrying system with leather handles on the top and narrow, adjustable textile shoulder straps will prove to be absolutely beneficial in practice. If necessary, the backpack can be re-treated with Greenland wax.

Produziert wurde der „Kånken“ ursprünglich, um Schäden der Wirbelsäule bei schwedischen Schulkindern vorzubeugen. Er war kurz nach der Einführung bereits nicht mehr aus den Kindergärten wegzudenken und hat 35 Jahre später Millionen von Kindern vor Wirbelsäulenschädigungen bewahrt. Auch heute hält dieser Siegeszug des Klassikers an und hat sich mittlerweile auch als Rucksack für bspw. Büro und Reisen durchgesetzt. Bei dem Kånken 2.0 wurde anstatt Vinylon F (Material des Original Kånkens) das strapazierfähige und bewährte G-1000® Heavy Duty Material (doppelt gewachst) verwendet. Der Rucksack wird also nochmals robuster und mit Lederdetails noch ein Stück weit mehr eleganter. Eine große Reißverschlussöffnung ermöglicht ein einfaches Befüllen des Hauptfaches. Zusätzlichen Stauraum bieten die zwei offenen Seitenfächer und das Reißverschlussfach an der Frontseite. Das rückwärtige Innenfach ist bei der 2.0 Version aus G-1000® Lite. Als Gimmick hat Fjällräven in jedem Innenfach des Kånken 2.0 Rucksacks ein Sitzkissen aus G-1000® Heavy Duty untergebracht. Dies macht sich nicht nur als Sitzmöglichkeit bezahlt, sondern schützt auch davor, dass der Rucksackinhalt zum Rücken hindurchdrückt. Optisch dezent, trotzdem einprägend kann der Kånken sowohl als „Bürotasche“ als auch als Outdoor-Begleiter getragen werden. Das Tragesystem mit Griffen aus Leder an der Oberseite und schmalen sowie verstellbaren Textil-Schultergurten wird sich hierbei in der Praxis absolut bezahlt machen. Bei Bedarf kann der Rucksack mit dem Greenland Wachs nachbehandelt werden.
