The 98 system is probably one of the, if not the most popular and most imitated weapon systems of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Introduced in 1898 as the standard armament of the Imperial German Army, the Gewehr 98 provided valuable service and formed the backbone of German armament. During the war, the characteristics that made the rifle so popular became evident: robustness, reliability, and precision.

These advantages made the 98 system the unrivaled favorite when it came to the rearmament of Germany. Without hesitation, the carbine version of the 98 system was introduced as standard armament. Once again, the 98 system formed the backbone of German armament.

The present rifle has been completely refurbished by gunsmith Zahner and fitted with a new barrel.

A valid German proof mark is present.

The weapon is in very good condition, and while the barrel has been well used, it is still in good condition.

Particularly, the stock is in very nice condition.

The weapon is stamped with Orion, which means that it was imported by Hege with Frankonia.

Das 98er System ist wahrscheinlich eines der, wenn nicht sogar das populärste und am meisten imitierte Waffensystem des ausgehenden 19ten und des beginnenden 20ten Jahrhunderts. 1898 als Standartbewaffnung der kaiserlich-deutschen Armee eingeführt, leistete das Gewehr 98 wertvolle Dienste und bildete das Rückrad der deutschen Bewaffnung. Während des Krieges zeigten sich auch die Eigenschaften, die das Gewehr so populär machten: Robustheit, Zuverlässigkeit und Präzision.

Diese Vorzüge machten das 98er-System zum konkurrenzlosen Favoriten, als es um die Wiederbewaffnung Deutschlands ging. Ohne zu zögern wurde die Karabinerversion des 98er-Systems als Standartbewaffnung eingeführt. Und wieder bildete das das 98er-System das Rückrad der deutschen Bewaffnung.

Das vorliegende Gewehr wurde vollständig vom Büchsenmacher Zahner überarbeitet und mit einem neuen Lauf versehen.

Ein gültiger deutscher Beschuss liegt vor.

Die Waffe befindet sich in einem sehr gutem Zustand und der Lauf wurde gerne geschossen, der Lauf allerdings ist noch in einem guten Zustand.

Besonders der Schaft ist in einem sehr schönen Zustand.

Gestempelt ist die Waffe mit Orion, was bedeutet dass die Waffe von Hege mit Frankonia importiert wurde.
