The linear repeater Merkel RX Helix Speedster Black impresses with short cycling distances, intuitive handling, a revolutionary stock principle, and a very elegant color scheme. The deep black stock is covered with dark gray soft-touch inlays. The compact, front-heavy semi-weight barrel with a length of 51 cm oscillates optimally and looks good even in tight hunting hides. Merkel RX HELIX Speedster Stock
The RX HELIX Speedster with the revolutionary Merkel SpeedStock takes completely new paths for a hunting rifle: The open-top OmegaGrip combines two classic stock principles into an ergonomic new development. For single shots, the ergonomics of the classic hole stock are unmatched, but when reloading, it reveals weaknesses: the insertion and removal of the thumb into the stock hole is cumbersome for quick cycling. The Merkel SpeedStock with the open OmegaGrip is the solution to the problem. After cycling, the thumb intuitively glides back along the stock's back into shooting position. The speed stock also scores with grippy soft-touch inlays and the height-adjustable stock back with memory cheek piece function. The stock back can be adjusted at the push of a button – an important advantage for precise shooting with a scope. The recoil-absorbing Speedstock butt plate is available in 3 different sizes. It can be replaced without tools. A cleaning cord from Boresnake is hidden in the pistol grip and is always at hand to clean the barrel and chamber.
Straight-pull repeating system with manual cocking
The HELIX system: Straight-pull repeating system with 1:2 gear ratio results in an extremely short cycling distance. The straight pull stands for the fastest cycling in the shooting position. It allows for lightning-fast shot sequences while maintaining a relaxed body posture without putting down the weapon. The shooter's eye and the barrel of the weapon remain focused on the target. The time gained in target acquisition leads to a safer shot release. The manual cocking safety system is considered one of the best safety systems. No other mechanical safety can offer the security of a relaxed firing pin spring. The Merkel RX Helix is consciously cocked only before the shot: the cocking slider is pushed forward. If not shot, a light pressure on the cocking slider is sufficient to let it slide back and relax the system.
System & Assembly
The closed system housing prevents contamination from the outside and inside. The 6-lug rotary head lock directly locks in the barrel and stands for maximum precision. The modular system allows for easy caliber changes. Only the barrel and chamber head need to be exchanged. The weapon can be disassembled almost tool-free and in seconds, making it easy to transport. The RX Helix is fundamentally equipped with a 3-shot magazine (+1), and a 5-shot magazine is available as an option. The top of the bolt housing is designed as a Weaver rail. All commercially available Weaver mounts can be used for mounting a scope.
Merkel I-Sight Sight and M 15x1 Barrel Thread
The RX HELIX Speedster is standard equipped with the I-Sight system, meaning the sight is not only easily removable but can also be repositioned backward on the barrel, allowing any silencer, whether on- or over-barrel, to be mounted on the existing muzzle thread M 15x1.

Der tiefschwarze Schaft ist mit dunkelgrauen Softtouch-Einlagen belegt. Merkel RX HELIX Speedster-Schaft
Die RX HELIX Speedster mit dem revolutionären Merkel SpeedStock geht für ein Jagdgewehr völlig neue Wege: Der oben offene OmegaGrip kombiniert zwei klassische Schaftprinzipien zu einer ergonomischen Neuentwicklung. Beim Einzelschuss ist die Ergonomie des klassischen Lochschafts unübertroffen, beim Nachladen hingegen offenbart er Schwächen: für das schnelle Repetieren ist das Ein- und Ausfädeln des Daumens in das Schaftloch hinderlich. Der Merkel SpeedStock mit dem offenen OmegaGrip ist die Lösung des Problems. Der Daumen gleitet nach dem Repetieren intuitiv entlang des Schaftrückens wieder in Schussposition. Der Speedschaft punktet auch mit griffigen Soft-Touch Inlays und dem höhenverstellbaren Schaftrücken mit Memory-Cheek-Piece Funktion. Der Schaftrücken lässt sich auf Knopfdruck verstellen – ein wichtiger Vorteil für den präzisen Schuss mit Zielfernrohr. Die rückstoßdämpfende Schaftkappe Speedstock gibt es in 3 verschiedenen Größen. Sie ist werkzeuglos austauschbar. Eine Putzschnur von Boresnake ist im Pistolengriff versteckt und immer griffbereit, um den Lauf und Patronenlager zu reinigen.
Geradezug-Repetiersystem mit Handspannung
Das HELIX-System: Geradezug-Repetiersystem mit 1:2-Übersetzung bewirkt einen extrem kurzen Repetierweg. Der Geradezug steht für schnellstes Repetieren im Anschlag. Er ermöglicht blitzschnelle Schussfolgen bei entspannter Körperhaltung ohne das Absetzen der Waffe. Das Auge des Schützen und der Lauf der Waffe bleiben auf das Ziel gerichtet. Der Zeitgewinn bei der Zielaufnahme führt zu einer sichereren Schussabgabe. Das Handspann-Sicherungssystem gilt als eines der besten Sicherungssysteme. Keine andere mechanische Sicherung kann die Sicherheit einer entspannten Schlagfeder bieten. Die Merkel RX Helix wird bewusst und erst vor dem Schuss gespannt: der Spannschieber wird nach vorne geschoben. Wird nicht geschossen, so genügt ein leichter Druck auf den Spannschieber, um ihn zurückgleiten zu lassen und das System zu entspannen.
System & Montage
Das geschlossene Systemgehäuse verhindert Verschmutzungen von außen und innen. Der 6-Warzen-Drehkopfverschluss verriegelt direkt im Lauf und steht für maximale Präzision. Das modulare System ermöglicht problemlos einen Kaliberwechsel. Lediglich der Lauf und der Kammerkopf müssen getauscht werden. Die Waffe ist fast werkzeuglos, sekundenschnell zerlegt und kann bequem transportiert werden. Die RX Helix ist grundsätzlich mit einem 3-Schuss-Magazin (+1) ausgestattet, ein 5-Schuss-Magazin ist optional erhältlich. Die Oberseite der Verschlusshülse ist als Weaverschiene ausgebildet. Alle handelsüblichen Weavermontagen können für die Montage eines Zielfernrohrs verwendet werden.
Merkel I-Sight-Visierung und Laufgewinde M 15x1
Die RX HELIX Speedster ist serienmäßig mit dem I-Sight-System ausgerüstet, d. h. die Visierung ist nicht nur einfach abnehmbar, sondern auch nach hinten auf dem Lauf versetzbar, so dass jeder Schalldämpfer, ob On- und Overbarrel, auf das vorhandene Mündungsgewinde M 15x1 montiert werden kann.
