Short barrels are increasingly gaining popularity among hunters. This trend is supported by the growing use of suppressors, especially in caliber .308 Win.
Standard ammunition is designed for common barrel lengths of 600 mm. When firing standard ammunition from shorter barrels, the following disadvantages become apparent:
Energy and speed loss
limited effectiveness
pronounced muzzle flash
loud muzzle report
increased wear on the suppressor
Therefore, RWS has developed a cartridge that is specifically optimized for use in short barrels. In practice, this means: shooting from short barrels without loss of performance.
The RWS EVOLUTION GREEN projectile is a lead-free partially disintegrating projectile with a series of coordinated design features. The projectile cores are made from food-safe tin. Through special pre-fragmentation of the front projectile core as well as the Speed Tip projectile tip, the RWS EVOLUTION GREEN achieves its convincing projectile effect - outstanding terminal performance even at long shooting distances. The projectile is suitable for all native game species, but it performs best in the range of light to medium game.
