The BD 14 is equipped with a double lock system, allowing a second shot to be immediately available without re-cocking. Thanks to the exposed barrels, the point of impact remains constant even with rapid follow-up shots, regardless of which barrel is fired first. The extremely strong tilting block lock also contributes to the high precision of the BD 14.
BLASER VERTICAL BLOCK LOCK
The newly developed and patented Blaser vertical block lock is an absolute world novelty. It combines an extremely compact, stable block locking mechanism in a closed system in the barrel hook piece with the comfortable operability of classic break-action weapons. Thanks to the vertical locking, it is ensured that the lock can be reliably closed even with cartridges that slide heavily into the chamber. The lock block is easy and quick to remove and can thus be stored separately from the weapon. An additional safety feature to protect against unauthorized use.
HAND COCKING DOUBLE LOCK SYSTEM
The hand cocking system offers the highest possible safety when handling the loaded weapon. Two locks allow for a quick follow-up shot if needed. Using a toggle switch, conveniently located next to the lock lever, the BD14 can optionally function as a mountain rifle or a Bockbüchsflinte. The front trigger always operates the lower, large ball barrel. When opening the lock or when operating the lock lever, both locks automatically relax. The trigger weight of approximately 650 g for both triggers, as well as the extremely dry characteristic, guarantee safe hitting.
FREE SWINGING BARRELS
Even with rapid follow-up shots and regardless of the previously fired barrel, the point of impact remains consistently precise. The adjustment of the small ball barrel to the large ball barrel is done using easily operable adjustment elements in the muzzle ring (side adjustment) and in a second barrel ring (height adjustment) under the fore-end. All sliding surfaces that serve thermal stability are hard chrome plated and thus permanently corrosion protected. This type of barrel adjustment ensures the best possible constant point of impact.

BLASER VERTIKALBLOCKVERSCHLUSS
Der neu entwickelte und zum Patent angemeldete Blaser Vertikalblockverschluss ist eine absolute Weltneuheit. Er vereint eine extrem kompakte, stabile Blockverriegelung in einem geschlossenen System im Laufhakenstück mit der komfortablen Bedienbarkeit klassischer Kipplaufwaffen. Dank vertikaler Verriegelung ist gewährleistet, dass der Verschluss auch bei schwergängig ins Lager gleitenden Patronen zuverlässig geschlossen werden kann. Der Verschlussblock ist einfach und schnell herausnehmbar und kann somit auch getrennt von der Waffe aufbewahrt werden. Ein zusätzliches Sicherheitsplus zum Schutz vor unbefugtem Gebrauch.
HANDSPANN-DOPPELSCHLOSSSYSTEM
Das Handspannsystem bietet höchstmögliche Sicherheit beim Führen der geladenen Waffe. Zwei Schlosse ermöglichen bei Bedarf den schnellen Folgeschuss. Mittels Umschaltschieber, griffgünstig neben dem Verschlusshebel gelegen, ist beim BD14 wahlweise die Funktion eines Bergstutzens oder einer Bockbüchsflinte gegeben. Der vordere Abzug bedient dabei immer den unteren, großen Kugellauf. Beim Öffnen des Verschlusses, bzw. beim Betätigen des Verschlusshebels entspannen sich beide Schlosse automatisch. Das Abzugsgewicht von ca. 650 g bei beiden Abzügen, sowie die extrem trockene Charakteristik sind Garant für sicheres Treffen.
FREI SCHWINGENDE LÄUFE
Auch bei schnellen Folgeschüssen und unabhängig vom zuvor abgefeuerten Lauf ist die Treffpunktlage konstant präzise. Die Justierung des kleinen Kugellaufes zum großen Kugellauf erfolgt mittels einfach bedienbarer Verstellelemente in der Mündungsbrille (Seitenverstellung) und in einer zweiten Laufbrille (Höhenverstellung) unter dem Vorderschaft. Alle der Thermostabilität dienenden Gleitflächen sind hartverchromt und damit dauerhaft korrosionsgeschützt. Diese Art der Laufverstellung sorgt bestmöglich für konstante Treffpunktlage.
