La Marlin 1895 SBL est une carabine à levier de sous-garde chambrée en .45-70 Government, taillée pour la chasse au gros gibier à courte et moyenne distance et pour le tir lourd. Son vrai atout tient à sa construction tout inox 416 associée à un canon martelé à froid de 19 pouces et à une crosse en bois laminé gris qui encaisse l’humidité sans broncher.
Construction inox et crosse laminée
Le boîtier, le levier et le pontet sont usinés CNC dans de l’acier inoxydable 416 forgé, et le canon poli reçoit une finition stainless. La crosse en laminé gris résiste aux variations d’humidité bien mieux qu’un bois massif, ce qui en fait une arme de terrain par tous les temps.
Visée et montage optique
Le rail Picatinny sur le boîtier accepte directement une lunette, un point rouge ou des organes de visée déportés. D’origine, la carabine reçoit un guidon fibre optique tritium haute visibilité et une hausse de type ghost ring réglable, utilisables de jour comme en faible lumière.
Calibre .45-70 et grande boucle
Le .45-70 Government délivre une énergie massive sur le gros gibier, et le levier à grande boucle se manipule rapidement, gant compris. Le canon fileté en 11/16-24 permet de monter un frein de bouche ou un modérateur de son.
