Roach Belly, Outdoormesser Beschreibung Roach Belly, Outdoor Knife Das historische Roach Belly verfügte über eine kurze, deutlich nach oben gebogene Klinge mit scharfer Spitze. Es wurde höchstwahrscheinlich nach dem Rotauge (engl. common roach) benannt, einem karpfenartigen Fisch, der einen ähnlich runden Bauch aufwies, und war im 17. Jahrhundert in England und in den amerikanischen Kolonien weit verbreitet. Seitdem hat es von seiner Wirtschaftlichkeit, Vielseitigkeit und Leistungsfähigkeit nichts eingebüßt. Bei der Gestaltung von Cold Steels® Interpretation wurde die Originalform beibehalten, aber moderne Materialien eingesetzt. Die Klinge ist aus tieftemperaturbehandeltem Edelstahl 4116 geschmiedet und wurde fachmännisch bis zu einer Rockwellhärte von 56-57 HRC gehärtet. Sie verfügt über eine scharfe Schneide, die sich leicht nachschärfen lässt. Der traditionelle Holzgriff wurde durch einen strapazierfähigen, spritzgegossenen Polymer-Griff ersetzt. Dieser ist wesentlich witterungsbeständiger als seine historischen Vorbilder und wird im Gegensatz zu Modellen aus Holz weder aufquellen, noch schrumpfen, vermodern oder reißen. Das Roach Belly wird mit einer strapazierfähigen Secure-Ex®-Scheide geliefert und lässt sich somit den ganzen Tag bei längeren Jagd- oder Campingausflügen mühelos tragen. Rostfreier Messerstahl 4116 Der 4116er Stahl ist ein feinkörniger, rostfreier Messerstahl. Er wird oft für pharmazeutische Geräte und für hochqualitative Küchenmesser verwendet. Sein ausgewogenes Kohlenstoff-Chrom-Verhältnis sorgt sowohl für erstklassigen Rostschutz und große Stärke. Es sind sehr feine, extrem scharfe Schneiden schleifbar. Eine exzellente Wahl für Outdoor- /Jagdmesser und Küchenmesser und -utensilien.
