The HEYM Jagdgewehr-Manufaktur GmbH was founded in 1998 by entrepreneur Thomas Wolkmann.
HEYM looks back on a long and eventful history that can no longer be fully reconstructed, as the company's archives were lost twice: once in 1945 during the flight from the Soviet occupation zone and again in 1997.
The origins of the company date back to 1865, when master gunsmith Friedrich Wilhelm Heym founded the renowned company in Suhl. In 1945, the company fled to Ostheim in West Germany. In 1952, a new factory was established in Münnerstadt. In 1995, the entire company was relocated to Gleichamberg in Thuringia, 40 km from Suhl, into a factory building specially constructed for HEYM.
HEYM is a pure hunting rifle manufacturer that specializes in the production of bolt-action rifles and safari double rifles, which enjoy an excellent reputation among hunters worldwide. The company is a craft business,
In the manufactory, guided tours allow visitors to experience all the steps required to build a hunting rifle under one roof.
The company places great importance on high in-house production, everything is 100% Made in Germany.
