Compact Case Chamfering from LEE PRECISION
Clean inside chamfer and burr-free outside edge – with a single hand tool
The LEE PRECISION Chamfer Tool 90109 machines the inside and outside of the case mouth after trimming. Its hardened blades work without drive and are also suitable for large cases up to 0.570″ outside diameter at the case mouth.
Two Working Sides
One side creates the inside chamfer, the other removes the protruding outside burr. This prepares the case mouth in two controlled hand movements.
Direct Hand Tool
No press, no pilot, and no cordless screwdriver required. This makes the tool especially straightforward for small and changing batches.
Large Working Range
LEE specifies up to 0.570″ outside diameter for the outside chamfer and explicitly confirms use with .50 BMG cases.
Purchase Check: Does the 90109 fit your workflow?
Suitable if you want to manually remove inside and outside burrs after case trimming.
Suitable if a small, universally usable tool without additional system parts is needed.
Not the right choice if you need a defined VLD angle, adjustable cutting depth, or guided precision stop.
Not a replacement for a case trimmer: The tool does not trim the case and does not correct a crooked case mouth.
Compatibility and Limits
For case mouths up to 0.570″ outside diameter
Also specified by the manufacturer for .50 BMG
For brass cases and manual use
Without caliber-specific pilot or case holder
Scope of Delivery
1 × LEE PRECISION Chamfer Tool
Manufacturer No. 90109
Case, trimmer, length gauge, and other reloading accessories are not included.
Application: better few light cuts than too much material removal
First trim the case to the target length and check the case mouth.
Create the inside chamfer with light pressure and a few even rotary movements.
Flip the tool and remove the outside burr just as sparingly.
Clean and check the case mouth: It should be burr-free, not measurably shortened or thinned to a sharp edge.
Practical Limit: LEE also mentions the tool for removing a crimp at the primer pocket. Since the 90109 has no depth stop, it is there
only intended for cautious, manual rework. For reproducible case dimensions or strong military crimps, a guided reamer, uniformer, or swager is the more controlled solution.
What sets this tool apart from specialized alternatives
The 90109 relies on simplicity and broad usability. Pilot-guided or angle-defined tools offer more process control but require matching inserts or a specific system. For the classic deburring step after trimming, the compact LEE tool is a direct, space-saving solution.

Frequently asked questions about the LEE PRECISION 90109
Does the tool work on the inside and outside? Yes. It smooths the inside of the case mouth and removes the burr on the outside.
Can I use the tool for .50 BMG? Yes. LEE explicitly states use for .50 BMG. For the outside chamfer, the manufacturer specifies a maximum case outside diameter of 0.570″.
Is a pilot or case holder required? No. The 90109 is a standalone hand tool and does not require caliber-specific inserts for this operation.
Does the tool shorten the case to length? No. It removes burrs and creates a chamfer. Shortening to the desired length must be done beforehand with a case trimmer.
Can it remove a primer pocket crimp? The manufacturer mentions this application. Due to the lack of a depth stop, it should be used very sparingly; for reproducible results, guided specialized tools are better suited.
Is this a VLD chamfer tool? No. LEE does not specify a defined VLD angle for the 90109. Those needing a specific angle or adjustable depth should choose a correspondingly specified tool.
How do I avoid excessive material removal? With light pressure, few rotations, and regular visual checks. The goal is a burr-free edge, not the widest possible chamfer.

Was das Werkzeug praktisch leistet
