Element Optics Helix HD 1-8x24 – compact LPVO for hunting
The Element Optics Helix HD 1-8x24 is a versatile LPVO scope for hunting applications at short to medium distances. The eightfold zoom range, the particularly wide field of view, and the illuminated L4A reticle allow you to quickly acquire targets and maintain a clear sight picture in various hunting situations.
The HD optical system with fully multi-coated lenses achieves a light transmission of 92 percent. The optic is complemented by a bright, fiber-optic illuminated center dot, eleven brightness levels, and a robust, compact housing with a 30 mm main tube.
Eightfold zoom range for short and medium distances
With its stepless adjustable 1- to 8-fold magnification, the Helix HD covers a wide range of applications. At low magnification, the scope helps you quickly and intuitively acquire targets at short range. As the magnification increases, you can spot targets at medium distances more precisely.
The magnification ring is equipped with a removable throw lever. This allows you to quickly adjust the magnification even in dynamic situations. If you don’t want to use the lever, you can remove it and replace it with the included hex screw.
Class-Leading Field of View
A special strength of the Element Optics Helix HD 1-8x24 is the exceptionally large field of view. At 1x magnification, it measures 41 meters at 100 meters distance. At 8x magnification, you still have 5.13 meters at 100 meters available.
The large field of view makes it easier for you to keep an eye on your surroundings and quickly spot a target in the sight picture. This makes the LPVO especially interesting for hunting situations where overview and quick reaction are required.
HD optic system with 92 percent light transmission
The HD optic system is designed for a bright, high-contrast, and detailed image. The fully multi-coated lenses improve light transmission and reduce distracting reflections.
With a specified light transmission of 92 percent, the scope delivers convincing image brightness even in less favorable lighting conditions. The 24-millimeter objective diameter keeps the optic compact, while the 30-mm main tube allows for a robust construction and generous adjustment range.
L4A Reticle with Fiber Optic Illumination
The L4A reticle combines a clear 4A-like design with a fine illuminated center. The fiber optic illumination creates a small and clearly visible aiming point that is easy to see both in bright daylight and at dusk.
Using the side rotary control, you can choose between eleven brightness levels. Between the individual levels are additional off positions. This allows you to turn off the illumination right next to your preferred setting and then quickly turn it back on with the appropriate brightness.
The illumination is powered by a standard CR2032 battery.
Reticle in the second focal plane
The L4A reticle is located in the second focal plane. Its perceived size therefore remains constant when changing magnification. This way, you get a clearly visible and consistently fine reticle at every magnification level.
The reticle measurements are calibrated for eight times magnification. If you want to use the scale markings included in the reticle, they are correct at 8x magnification.
MRAD Adjustment Turrets
Elevation and windage adjustments come with screw-on protective caps. The sealed turrets support the compact, hunting-friendly design and protect the adjustment mechanism from accidental changes as well as external influences.
The click adjustment is 0.1 MRAD. At 100 meters distance, one click shifts the point of impact by one centimeter. Six MRAD are available per full rotation. The total elevation and windage adjustment range is 40 MRAD each.
After zeroing, the scales on the adjustment turrets can be reset to zero. The parallax is factory-set fixed at 100 meters.
Generous Eye Relief and Adjustable Diopter
An eye relief of 95 millimeters supports a comfortable cheek weld and provides enough distance between the eye and the eyepiece. The exit pupil ranges between 8.5 and 3 millimeters depending on the chosen magnification.
You can adjust the sharpness of the reticle to your personal eyesight using the diopter adjustment on the eyepiece. To do this, point the scope at a bright, featureless background and turn the adjustment ring until the reticle appears clear and sharp.
Robust and Compact Design
The Element Optics Helix HD 1-8x24 was developed for reliable use under hunting conditions. The design is shockproof and weather-resistant. Strict quality controls ensure consistently reliable optical and mechanical performance.
With a length of 284 millimeters, the scope remains pleasantly compact. The weight is 519 grams. Suitable rings with a diameter of 30 millimeters are required for mounting.
For Picatinny rails, you can find for example the or the at ActionShop24. Which height is suitable depends on your firearm and the required distance between the optic and barrel or system.
