Spuhr SP-3601 Low 30 mm Mount with 30 mm Axis Height and 6 MIL / 20.6 MOA Cant – for bolt-action rifles where low cheek weld and additional cant fit simultaneously.
Fits well 30 mm scope, low stock line, one-piece rail, and deliberately needed 6 MIL cant with reliably achievable zero.
Fits less well When rail cant/adjustment range is unknown, more build height is needed, QD or cantilever mounts are required, or the objective bell just clears the bridge.
Why this combination is special
30 mm Axis Height Very low sight line for classic bolt-action geometry. Ergonomically only sensible if the eye naturally aligns at this height in the shooting position.
6 MIL / 20.6 MOA Shift the usable elevation range without increasing the mechanical total adjustment range of the optic.
Rail + Mount add up An already canted weapon base further increases the total cant. This can make the adjustment range for the desired zero tight.
Tighter build height Above the rail, theoretically 60 mm outer diameter at zero clearance is possible; usable space above the mounting bridge may be less.
Compatibility & Avoiding Bad Buys
Before ordering, 30 mm ring zones, rail cant, desired zero, real adjustment range, and objective contour must be known. The fixed block geometry requires a one-piece Picatinny/STANAG base; two-piece rails and SAKO S20 are excluded according to Spuhr. A nominally large elevation adjustment does not guarantee the zero remains achievable despite 6 MIL cant.
Limits & Disadvantages
The biggest risk of a bad buy is the combination of "low" and "canted" without system calculation. Too low eye line worsens the shooting position, too much total cant can prevent close zero. Additionally, the tight objective/bridge clearance. If you only need one of these two advantages, SP-3001 or SP-3602 usually offer the clearer solution.

FAQ
Does 6 MIL increase the adjustment range? No. They only shift the position of the existing adjustment path.
Does the rail tilt add up? Yes. The total tilt consists of the firearm base plus mounting.
Why is objective clearance more critical here? The 30 mm axis height offers less space; wide objective housings or cones can touch the rail or bridge.
When is the SP-3602 better? When the same 6 MIL are needed, but a higher 38 mm axis line fits better ergonomically and geometrically.
Black-Raptor classification: very targeted solution for low bolt-action rifles with calculated long-range tilt. Those who don’t know rail angle, counter adjustment path or objective clearance should not buy based on the MOA number.
