Complete mechanical backup sights – choose variant deliberately by design and front sight width This product family includes complete ERATAC front/rear sight sets in standard or offset versions as well as with 1.35- or 1.8-mm front sight. The crucial factor is therefore not only the front sight width but first the desired arrangement on your own Picatinny setup.
Fits well – and when rather not
Fits well For buyers who want to build a complete mechanical backup sight on a suitable Picatinny interface and deliberately choose between standard and offset arrangement.
Rather not suitable If only a single front sight is needed, an HK-style version is sought, or optics, magnifier, and other accessories leave no free folding or sight line.
Clearly distinguish the four variants
T0540-0355 · Standard · 1.8 mm Complete standard backup sight with wider 1.8-mm front sight. The front sight is visually more prominent and thus the obvious choice when quick target acquisition is prioritized.
T0541-0355 · Standard · 1.35 mm Complete standard backup sight with finer 1.35-mm front sight. It covers less of the target image but requires a more deliberate aiming.
T0540-1355 · Offset · 1.8 mm Complete offset set with 1.8-mm front sight. Useful only if an explicitly laterally offset backup sight is intended.
T0541-1355 · Offset · 1.35 mm Complete offset set with fine 1.35-mm front sight. This variant combines offset arrangement with a finer sight picture.
Practical effect and compatibility

Fold-flat For the standard front sight, ERATAC specifies 9 mm height when folded down. Still, the main optic, caps, and other accessories must be checked for clearance on the specific setup.
Defined system height ERATAC assigns the standard backup sights to the usual AR15 sight height. This does not replace checking the actual rail level and the chosen offset/standard variant.
Limits, disadvantages, and avoiding bad purchases
No HK-style variant: T0540/T0541 belong to the standard/offset family; ERATAC lists HK-style under separate article numbers. The previous HK-style tag was therefore incorrect.
Do not confuse front sight width with design: 1.35 and 1.8 mm do not indicate whether standard or offset is delivered.
Check mounting space: A nominally fitting Picatinny rail does not guarantee a collision-free combination with optic, magnifier, or covers.
No transfer of similar SKUs: The four selectable manufacturer codes must be treated separately; information from other ERATAC sight families does not automatically apply.
