LPVO · 1–8x · SFP · 30 mm
Vector Optics Continental x8 SCOC-45: fast 1x plus real detail reserve The SCOC-45 combines a true 1x lower limit with 8x maximum magnification, ED optics, and a bright fiber center. This makes it interesting for users who want to cover quick target acquisition and medium distances with just one optic.
Important before purchase: The reticle is in the second focal plane. Holdover marks do not change their angular relationship with magnification and must therefore be used at the designated level.
Our assessment
The strength of the SCOC-45 is its wide working range: fast and clear at the bottom, significantly more field of view at the top than a classic 1–4x or 1–6x. The 30-mm main tube keeps the mounting options broad. At the same time, it remains a 1–8x LPVO and not a replacement for a large 50- or 56-mm glass in very low light.
Fits well if … … you are looking for an LPVO for dynamic shooting sports, range, or hunting applications with short to medium distances.
… a well-visible illuminated center and 8x as a reserve are more important to you than the lowest possible weight.
Fits less if … … your focus is almost exclusively on twilight or high magnification.
… you want an FFP reticle whose subtensions remain proportional over the entire zoom range.
Features with practical effect
1–8x zoom 1x supports fast, both-eyes-open target acquisition; 8x brings significantly more detail for smaller targets and clean hold on distance.
SFP + fiber center The reticle remains opti
sch gleich groß. The illuminated fiber dot helps with quick target acquisition but does not replace the correct magnification choice for holdover marks.
0.1 MIL click value One click corresponds to approximately 1 cm at 100 m. This makes it easier to make traceable adjustments when using the reticle and turret in the MIL system.
30 mm main tube For mounting, you need 30 mm rings or a suitable 30 mm block mount. Height and eye relief must fit your cheek weld.
Limits & avoiding bad purchases
24 mm objective: compact and typical for LPVOs, but not designed for maximum low-light performance. SFP: holdover marks are not automatically true to scale at every magnification. Weight: around 530 g without mount – relevant for lightweight setups.
Don’t choose the mount based on the optic alone: ring diameter, rail standard, height, eye relief, and clearance must all fit together.
Technical data with practical interpretation
Magnification 1–8x – fast at the low end, significantly more detail reserve at the high end.
Objective / tube 24 mm / 30 mm – classic LPVO format with a wide range of mounting options.
Reticle plane SFP – reticle stays visually the same size.
Eye relief approx. 100 mm – check mounting position before final tightening in your natural shooting position.
Adjustment 0.1 MIL per click – approx. 1 cm point of impact shift per click at 100 m.
Weight approx. 530 g without mount – powerful for a 1–8x, but not ultra-light.
Scope of delivery
Rifle scope, mounting rings, protective caps for objective and eyepiece, and cleaning cloth according to the attached product data sheet.
Safe use
Tighten mounting evenly and with the torque specified for the mount used. Recheck and zero after mounting or dismounting. Before shooting, check eye relief, clearance, and secure fit.
FAQ
Is the SCOC-45 an FFP scope? No. It is an SFP model; the reticle stays visually the same size when zooming. What mount size is needed? The main tube has a 30 mm diameter. Additionally, height and existing rail must fit the firearm and your desired cheek weld. Is 8x useful for medium distances? Yes, 8x offers significantly more detail than 4x or 6x. Whether you need the reserve depends on target size, distance, and discipline. Is the glass optimized for very low light? No. A 24 mm LPVO prioritizes compactness and speed; larger 50 or 56 mm objectives typically offer more low-light performance.
Black Raptor · Buying decision instead of datasheet
The SCOC-45 is strong if you want a single optic for fast 1x work and 8x detail reserve. Those who mostly shoot in low light or need permanently true-to-scale FFP holdover marks should choose a different design. (Show description in original language)
