NEXTORCH TA30CG K.I.S.S. · Carbon Green
Reduced control logic: LOCK or 1,600-lumen momentary light
The TA30CG K.I.S.S. is aimed at users who deliberately don’t want mode cycling. With the mounted K.I.S.S. tailcap, only LOCK or a non-latching momentary light with 1,600 lumens is available. This reduction is its biggest advantage – and its main limitation.

Black Raptor – Product assessment
From our dealer team · Editorial classification
According to NEXTORCH, the TA30CG is the green special edition of the TA30C with K.I.S.S. tailcap and matching-color FR-1. The decisive difference is the switch design: only LOCK and non-latching momentary light with up to 1,600 lumens are documented. Lower light levels and latched constant light are therefore not part of the described K.I.S.S. configuration.
For power supply, the manufacturer specifies an included 18650 battery with 3,400 mAh and USB-C port as well as two CR123 batteries as alternatives. The stated dimensions are 136 × 30 × 23 mm, weight 97 g without battery. Battery and accessories increase the actual carried total weight.
For this model variant, the manufacturer’s page is not fully consistent: The technical table additionally lists 330 and 20 lumens as well as related l
on times on, although the text explicitly excludes further functions. We therefore do not adopt these values as available modes of the TA30CG. Our classification is based on the explicitly described end cap; no own light, runtime, or load measurements are underlying.

Fits well if … / Fits less well if …
Fits well if … you consciously want to use only LOCK and immediate momentary light, are looking for a compact 18650 flashlight, and want to integrate the colour-matched FR-1 guide ring into your carrying concept.
Fits less well if … you expect Low or Medium for close range, continuous light, strobe, or a universal flashlight for camping, workshop, and longer search tasks.
Purchase check: switch logic, light output and power
Operation: With K.I.S.S. end cap there is only LOCK and 1,600-lumen momentary light. The button does not lock in.
Light output: 1,600 lumens and 303 m standardized range mean strong light, but no guaranteed identification distance. Bright walls, glass, fog and small rooms can cause strong backscatter.
Power: The flashlight is designed for one 18650 battery or two CR123A. The included 3,400-mAh 18650 has a USB-C charging port.
What the features mean in practice
K.I.S.S. ring switch The reduced operation prevents searching through multiple brightness levels. You consciously give up flexibility for this.
1,600 lumens / 303 m The high output is suitable for short, strong light pulses. For longer close work, a lower level is often more comfortable – exactly this is missing here.
FR-1 guide ring The colour-matched ring supports a reproducible hand position. Alignment and carrying style should be checked with the actually used pouch or holster.
18650 or 2× CR123A The battery is the normal rechargeable solution; two CR123A can serve as an alternative power source. Do not mix cells of different brands, types or charge states.
Limits, disadvantages and typical misbuys
Confused K.I.S.S. with full equipment: Low, Medium, Strobe and locked continuous light are not part of this configuration.
303 m understood as a safe recognition distance: The value is a standardized range specification and not a guarantee for safe identification.
IPX8 interpreted as dust protection: The existing specification refers to water protection; it does not replace a separate dust protection classification.
Underestimated too much light in close range: 1,600 lumens can cause strong backscatter on bright surfaces. The reduced flashlight therefore requires conscious handling of light pulses.
Technical data with practical interpretation
Operation Mechanical K.I.S.S. ring switch: LOCK or non-locking momentary light – maximally simple, consciously inflexible.
Light 1,600 ANSI lumens, 303 m standardized range, Luminus SST-40-W – for strong short light output.
Power 1× 18650 or 2× CR123A; 3,400-mAh 18650 with USB-C included.
Durability IPX8 up to 2 m water depth and 2 m drop height according to available product data – sealing surfaces and O-rings should still be checked regularly.
Dimensions and weight 136 × 30 × 23 mm; 97 g without battery – compact, ready-to-use weight is higher with battery and FR-1.
Material and finish Hard anodized aluminium in Carbon Green, titanium crown with nano-ceramic elements and colour-matched FR-1.
Scope of delivery
TA30CG K.I.S.S., colour-matched FR-1, stainless steel clip, wrist strap, 3,400-mAh USB-C battery, USB-C cable, CR123A adapter, two spare O-rings and user manual.
Safe use and care
Do not shine directly into eyes. Set to LOCK during transport. The nano-ceramic elements at the front can damage glass, surfaces and skin.
Do not charge CR123A primary cells and only use them as matching pairs. Keep O-rings, threads, and sealing surfaces clean; perform visual and functional checks after exposure to water or impact.

Black Raptor Buying Guide
The right light if you really want reduction.
The TA30CG K.I.S.S. impresses not with many modes but with a clear operating logic. If your daily use demands more brightness levels or constant light, a more versatile light is the better choice. (Show description in original language)
