Originally, the Swing rifle was developed in the 1970s by George Swenson and Laurie Ingram as an alternative to scope rifles based on the Lee-Enfield No. 4 and the Mauser 1898. The rifle is specifically designed for high-precision competitive shooting at long distances (large caliber). Characteristic features include a short lock time, a clean trigger, and the RPA-Quadlock system used. The design features of the Swing rifle can also be found in later models such as the RPA rifle and the Paramount rifle. The Swing rifle is no longer produced today.

Ursprünglich wurde das Swing-Gewehr in den 1970er Jahren von George Swenson und Laurie Ingram als Alternative zu Zielfernrohrgewehren auf Basis des Lee-Enfield Nr. 4 und des Mauser 1898 entwickelt. Das Gewehr ist speziell für hochpräzises Wettkampfschießen auf große Distanzen (Großkaliber) konzipiert. Charakteristisch sind die kurze Verschlusszeit, ein sauberer Abzug sowie das verwendete RPA-Quadlock-System. Die Konstruktionsmerkmale des Swing-Gewehrs finden sich auch in späteren Modellen wie dem RPA-Gewehr und dem Paramount-Gewehr wieder. Das Swing-Gewehr wird heute nicht mehr produziert.
