Die Autorin Elisabeth Leix beschäftigt sich seit ihrer Jugend mit Greifvögeln und der Beizjagd, sie ist stellvertretende Vorsitzende des Deutschen Falkenordens (DFO) und wurde für Engagement für Greifvögel mit dem Bundesverdienstkreuz ausgezeichnet.
