The Glock 49 Gen6 belongs to the new generation of the Austrian manufacturer. The changes compared to the predecessor models represent a significant leap in the development history, as the new Gen6 was clearly designed with a focus on the civilian end user. The new design elements and the revised haptics are detailed below. Otherwise, the Gen6 is strongly oriented towards the Gen5 in terms of trigger, technology, and overall design, as well as ambidextrous operation - therefore, for example, holsters from the older generations can still be used. However, the slide and barrel are compatible with the Gen4, making it possible to use the respective conversion systems. All Gen6 models are delivered as standard from the factory "optic ready" and with "Front Serrations" (FS). The new Optic Ready interface is positioned lower in the slide than the MOS system and uses innovative adapter plates, allowing sights to be mounted significantly lower and more stable. Three adapter plates are included in the delivery. The standard sighting is not adjustable like the classic MOS models but corresponds to the standard used for decades, allowing the vast accessory market for iron sights to continue to be utilized. The Glock 49 is a new crossover model. With the compact grip of the Glock 19 and the long slide of the Glock 17, the weapon is essentially the opposite of the Glock 45. Since it has the same grip as the Glock 19, it can also use all compatible magazines. As the Glock 17 now features the short dust cover like the compact variants, the Glock 49 can use all compatible conversion systems. This provides the shooter with more options. Features for all GEN 6 models: the trigger is now designed as a straight trigger, the distance from the back of the grip to the trigger is shorter and better suited for smaller hands, a higher cutout is integrated into the trigger guard, allowing the shooting hand to sit significantly higher for a more stable stance, the revised ergonomics are reflected in the grip profile, which adapts to the natural shape of the hand, the standard larger beavertail allows for a higher, safer position of the shooting hand, deeper and angled cut loading grooves at the front and back of the slide allow for better grip when loading, RTF6 is the new grip texture and combines two surface types for a firm, secure, yet comfortable hold, above the trigger guard is a textured area for the thumb of the supporting hand or for indexing the trigger finger, the slide stop lever is better protected against accidental activation due to a larger delineation.

Die Glock 49 Gen6 gehört zur neuen Generation des österreichischen Waffenherstellers. Die Änderungen gegenüber den Vorgängermodellen stellen einen großen Sprung in der Entwicklungsgeschichte dar, denn die neue Gen6 wurde klar mit dem Fokus auf den zivilen Endanwender entworfen. Die neuen Designelemente und die überarbeitete Haptik haben wir unten detailliert aufgeführt. Ansonsten orientiert sich die Gen6 stark an der Gen5, was den Abzug, die Technik und das generelle Design sowie die beidseitige Bedienbarkeit angeht - daher können z.B. Holster der alten Generationen weiterverwendet werden. Aber Schlitten und Lauf sind mit der Gen4 kompatibel, wodurch es möglich sein sollte die jeweiligen Wechselsysteme zu verwenden. Alle Gen6 werden als Standard ab Werk "optic ready" und mit "Front Serrations" (FS) ausgeliefert.Die neue Optik Ready Schnittstelle liegt tiefer im Schlitten als das MOS-System und verwendet neuartige Adapterplatten, wodurch Visiere deutlich niedriger und stabiler montiert werden können. Es gehören 3 Adapterplatten zum Lieferumfang. Die Standardvisierung ist wie den klassischen MOS-Modellen nicht verstellbar aber entspricht dem seit Jahrzehnten verwendeten Standard, sodass der riesige Zubehörmarkt an iron sights weiterhin genutzt werden kann.Die Glock 49 ist ein neues Crossover Modell. Mit dem kompakten Griffstück der Glock 19 und dem langen Schlitten der Glock 17 ist die Waffe im Grunde das Gegenteil der Glock 45. Da sie das gleiche Griffstück hat wie die Glock 19 kann sie auch alle passenden Magazine verwenden. Da die Glock 17 inzwischen das kurze Dustcover wie die kompakten Varianten aufweist kann die Glock 49 alle passenden Wechselsysteme verwenden. Dem Schützen bieten sich dadurch mehr Möglichkeiten.Merkmale für alle GEN 6 Modelle:der Abzug ist jetzt als gerades Züngel ausgeführtder Abstand vom Griffrücken zum Züngel ist kürzer und besser geeignet für kleinere Händeam Abzugsbügel ist ein höherer Freischnitt eingearbeitet, die Schusshand kann dadurch deutlich höher sitzen für einen stabileren Anschlagdie überarbeitete Ergonomie spiegelt sich im Griffprofil wieder, welches sich der natürlichen Handform anpasstder standardmäßig größere Beavertail erlaubt einen höheren, sichereren Sitz der Schusshandtiefere und schräg geschnittene Durchladerillen vorne und hinten am Schlitten erlauben einen besseren Halt beim DurchladenRTF6 ist die neue Grifftextur und verbindet Zwei Oberflächentypen für einen festen, sicheren, aber auch komfortablen Haltüber dem Abzugsbügel befindet sich eine texturierte Fläche für den Daumen der unterstützenden Hand oder zur Indexierung des Abzugsfingersder Verschlussfanghebel ist durch eine größere Abgrenzung besser gegen unbeabsichtigte Betätigung geschützt
