CCI Shotshell 84grs Nr4 10St
The CCI "Big 4" Shotshell .357 Magnum is the answer for all situations where fine birdshot is not sufficient. Instead of hundreds of tiny pellets, this capsule contains a load of coarse No. 4 shot (approximately 3.1 mm in diameter). This gives the shot significantly more penetration power and energy per pellet. Designed for pest control on somewhat tougher predators or at somewhat greater distances than the No. 9 version. If you want to buy .357 Magnum shot ammunition that offers real deep impact, the "Big 4" is your choice.
Application & Target Group (EN)
More power for the finishing shot.
Trapping (Badger/Fox): Where No. 12 or No. 9 shot might only get stuck in the fur, No. 4 penetrates deep enough to reliably reach vital organs. Ideal for the finishing shot on stronger predatory animals in traps.
Snakes/Rats: In countries with venomous snakes, the first choice ("Snake Shot"). In Germany, more relevant for rats, where the coarse pellets reliably kill.
Recommendations for Distance
Greater range with coarse shot:
Sport Shooting / Application: Optimized for 3 to 6 meters. The heavier pellet flies more stable and loses energy less quickly than fine shot.
Zeroing: Not necessary. Keep the spot.
Maximum effective range: Up to about 6–7 meters. The shot is less dense than with No. 9, but has more "punch".

Features & Performance
The "Big 4" fills the gap between fine shot and the single projectile. It offers less coverage (fewer hits), but each hit causes massive damage.
Comparison & Alternatives
Compared to the No. 9 Shotshell (3738), the Big 4 has significantly fewer pellets, but each pellet has more energy. For mice, use No. 9; for the fox in the trap, use No. 4.
Legal Notices (EN)
Purchase only with valid acquisition authorization (EWB). Sale only to persons over 18 years. Use for pest control only with official permission or in the hunting area (no shooting in the garden!).
FAQ
Is it also approved for .38 Special?
The case is often longer (.357 size). Please check the package label. Generally, .357 ammunition is NOT usable in .38s.
Does coarse shot damage the barrel?
No, the plastic capsule protects the barrel here as well.
Conclusion / Purchase Argument
The CCI "Big 4" .357 Magnum is the hammer among shot cartridges. If you want to ensure that the predator does not get back up.

Fleck halten.
