Other: The design of the weapon was by Dieudonné Saive, who took over as chief designer of FN after the death of John Moses Browning. There, it was planned to replace the manufactured magazine-fed rifles of the Mauser type with modern semi-automatic rifles. However, before the production of the pre-series could start in 1939, the entire project was stopped. With the German invasion of Poland, the production of the existing FN models took priority. In 1940, Belgium also fell, and Saive fled from the occupation by the Wehrmacht to Great Britain, taking the plans with him. There, he perfected his design and returned to Herstal at the end of the war.

Lauf und Zustand sehr gut!
Sonstiges:Der Entwurf der Waffe stammte von Dieudonné Saive, der nach dem Tod von John Moses Browning den Posten des Chefkonstrukteurs von FN übernahm. Dort plante man, die gefertigten Mehrlader vom Typ Mauser durch moderne halbautomatische Gewehre zu ersetzen. Bevor die Fertigung der Vorserie im Jahr 1939 anlaufen konnte, wurde das gesamte Vorhaben jedoch gestoppt. Mit dem deutschen Überfall auf Polen hatte die Produktion der bestehenden FN-Modelle Vorrang. 1940 fiel dann auch Belgien, Saive floh vor der Besatzung durch die Wehrmacht nach Großbritannien und nahm die Pläne mit sich. Dort vervollkommnete er seine Konstruktion und kehrte zum Kriegsende nach Herstal zurück
