Technology
The Mini-14 is an air-cooled gas-operated rifle (self-loading). The design is based on the M14 but uses a long-stroke gas system. Unlike the M14, the Mini-14 has a fixed gas block attached to the barrel, into which a hollow gas piston is screwed. The corresponding gas cylinder is located at the front of the bolt carrier.
The Mini-14 features a bolt catch that holds the bolt in the rear position when the magazine is empty; the trigger is located on the left front of the top of the receiver.
The safety is similar to that of the M14, located in front of the trigger guard and is pushed back (inside the trigger guard) to engage. The magazine release also corresponds to that of the M14 and must be pressed forward to release the magazine.
Convenient: The Mini-14 can also be disassembled like the M14 with just a few grips and without tools.

Technik
Das Mini-14 ist ein luftgekühlter Gasdrucklader (aufschiessend). Die Konstruktion basiert auf dem M14, verwendet aber ein Gassystem mit langem Hub. Anders als beim M14 ist am Lauf des Mini-14 ein feststehender Gasblock angebracht, in den ein hohler Gaskolben geschraubt ist. Der entsprechende Gaszylinder befindet sich in der Vorderseite des Verschlussträgers.
Das Mini-14 verfügt über einen Verschlussfang, der den Verschluss bei geleertem Magazin in der hinteren Stellung festhält; der Auslöser befindet sich links vorn auf der Oberseite des Verschlussgehäuses.
Die Sicherung entspricht der des M14, befindet sich vor dem Abzugsbügel und wird zum Sichern nach hinten (nach innerhalb des Abzugsbügels) geschoben. Der Magazinauslöser entspricht ebenfalls dem des M14 und muss zum Lösen des Magazins nach vorn gedrückt werden.
Gernial: Das Mini-14 wird ebenfalls wie das Vorbild M14 mit wenigen Griffen und ohne Werkzeug zerlegt.
