Also known as .44-40 Winchester, .44 WCF, and .44 Winchester, this caliber gained popularity due to its availability in rifles and handguns. The introduction of Cowboy Action Shooting has helped revive this outdated vintage caliber. Our .44-40 cases have a wall thickness of .0065", but are stiffer and less brittle than other brands, making reloading significantly easier.* We have heard that some Uberti revolvers have issues with weak hammer strikes and only ignite with Federal primers.
