Dank seiner universellen Anwendbarkeit ist es ein unverzichtbares Hilfsmittel für Erste-Hilfe-Ausrüstungen und Survival-Kits. Das Dreiecktuch wird als Armtragetuch eingesetzt, um die Bewegung des verletzten Arms oder der Hand einzuschränken und eine schnelle Stabilisierung zu ermöglichen.
