The VFG Adapter is the connection between the cleaning rod and the felt cleaner. It fits all VFG cleaning rods and has an M5 external thread and 1/8" internal thread. The adapter is designed to hold two felt cleaning elements. The first felt cleaner is screwed onto the wooden screw thread and is thus held firmly on the adapter. By moving the cleaning rod back and forth, you can polish, oil, de-oil, etc. the barrel. At the end of the thread, there is a sloping shoulder. When the felt cleaner is further screwed onto this shoulder, it expands slightly in diameter, so it fits tighter in the barrel. Although this requires more effort when pushing through, it increases the friction resistance and thus the cleaning effect. The second felt cleaner is pushed onto the metric fine thread so that it can be stripped off at the muzzle edge when it is dirty while retracting the cleaning rod.

Der VFG Adapter ist die Verbindung zwischen Putzstock und Filzreiniger. Er passt auf alle VFG Putzstöcke und hat ein M5 Außengewinde und 1/8" Innengewinde.
Der Adapter ist so konzipiert, dass er zwei Filzreinigungselemente aufnehmen kann. Der erste Filzreiniger wird auf das Holzschraubengewinde aufgedreht und dadurch fest auf dem Adapter gehalten. Durch Hin- und Herbewegen des Putzstocks kann man den Lauf polieren, ölen, entölen usw. Am Ende des Gewindes befindet sich eine schräg ansteigende Schulter. Wenn der Filzreiniger weiter auf diese Schulter aufgeschraubt wird, spreizt er sich im Durchmesser etwas aus, sodass er strammer im Lauf sitzt. Dies erfordert zwar mehr Kraftaufwand beim Durchschieben, erhöht jedoch den Reibungswiderstand und somit den Reinigungseffekt. Der zweite Filzreiniger wird auf das metrische Feingewinde aufgeschoben, sodass er beim Zurückziehen des Putzstocks an der Mündungskante abgestreift werden kann, wenn er verschmutzt ist.
