Starline cases .358 Win. 500 pieces The .358 Winchester was introduced by Winchester in 1955 and is based on the .308 Winchester. It was developed for use in bolt-action and lever-action rifles. Although it has not achieved the same widespread popularity as other .308-based cartridges, its ability to penetrate dense brush still makes it an excellent choice for hunting North American big game. With the increasing emergence of AR-10 assault rifles, the .358 Winchester is now also offered in this platform, as it provides the AR-10 with slightly more stopping power than the .308 Winchester.
