The Taurus 809 C is currently one of the most advanced handguns on the market. Developed from the very successful Taurus OSS made for the US military, the pistol from the Taurus 800 series offers the so-called "Strike Two" feature. If the primer does not ignite once, the 800 series automatically switches to double-action mode. By pulling the trigger again, the primer is struck once more. If the shot is fired the second time, the weapon switches back to single-action mode. If the cartridge does not fire on the second pull, it must be changed manually.

Die Taurus 809 C zählt aktuell zu den fortschrittlichsten Faustfeuerwaffen auf dem Markt. Entstanden aus der sehr erfolgreichen, für das US Militär gefertigten, Taurus OSS, bietet die Pistole aus der Taurus 800er Serie die sog. „Strike Two” Möglichkeit. Löst das Zündhütchen einmal nicht aus, wechselt die 800er Serie automatisch in den Double-Action Modus. Durch nochmaliges Betätigen des Abzuges wird das Zündhütchen ein weiteres Mal angeschlagen. Wird beim 2. Mal der Schuss ausgelöst, wechselt die Waffe wieder in den Single Action Modus. Falls die Patrone beim 2. Anschlag nicht auslöst, muss diese manuell gewechselt werden.
