The COA housing is narrower and more elegant, making it look good on GLOCK pistols with standard-width slides

as well as on the narrow slide of the GLOCK Slimline pistol models

and appears to be made from a single piece.

Due to the new design with thinner housing walls, it has the same size viewing window as an ACRO, ensuring quick target acquisition and the same quick reacquisition of the dot after a shot. At daylight brightness level 7, a battery life of 50,000 hours is promised. A side battery compartment for a CR2032 button cell allows for easy, comfortable battery replacement without removing the COA from the slide. While the ACRO Gen1 and Gen2 were tested for robust durability with 20,000 rounds in .40 S&W, the new Aimpoint COA was tested in rigorous endurance tests with 40,000 rounds in 9 mm Luger.

COA-Gehäuse ist schmaler und eleganter , sodass es auf GLOCK-Pistolen mit standardbreitem Verschluss

ebenso wie auf dem schmalen Schlitten der GLOCK-Slimline-Pistolenmodelle eine gute Figur macht

und wie aus einem Guss wirkt.

Dabei besitzt es aufgrund der Neukonstruktion mit dünneren Gehäusewänden aber das gleichgroße Sichtfenster wie ein ACRO, so dass die schnelle Zielerfassung und das ebenso fixe Wiederauffinden des Leuchtpunktes nach erfolgtem Schuss erhalten bleibt. Auf Tageslicht-Leuchtstufe 7 wird eine Batterielaufzeit von 50.000 Stunden versprochen. Ein seitlicher Batteriecontainer für eine CR2032-Knopfzelle ermöglicht einen leichten, komfortablen Batteriewechsel ohne Abbau des COA vom Verschluss. Während das ACRO Gen1 und Gen2 mit 20.000 Schuss in .40 S&W auf robuste Widerstandsfähigkeit getestet wurde, erprobte man das neue Aimpoint COA in harten Dauertests mit 40.000 Schuss in 9 mm Luger.
