The Santa Barbara K98 is a variant of the German Karabiner 98k manufactured in Spain, based on the classic Mauser system. It was produced in the second half of the 20th century, particularly by the company Empresa Nacional Santa Bárbara in Spain. The Santa Barbara K98 was not produced for military use, but for hunters and sport shooters. In Europe, it was popular as a reliable, precise hunting rifle, especially for hunting big game. The quality was high, often with better tolerances than former military K98k models. This Santa Barbara K98 has received a Spanish proof mark in Eibar.

In Europa war sie als zuverlässiges, präzises Jagdgewehr beliebt, insbesondere für die Jagd auf Hochwild. Die Qualität war hoch, oft mit besseren Toleranzen als bei ehemaligen Militär-K98k-Modellen. Diese Santa Barbara K98 hat einen spanischen Beschuß in Eibar erhalten.
