Prezentowany egzemplarz produkcji DWM, był przeznaczony dla armii, pomimo kolekcjonerskiej nazwy 1914, to model ten zaczęto produkować pod koniec 1913 roku. Wyprodukowano go w stosunkowo dużej liczbie (kilkunastu-kilkudziesięciu tysięcy), przez cały okres wojenny. Niemniej prezentowany model ma podwójną datę – 1917/18, co jest niespotykane. Jest też zgodny numerycznie.
Stan broni jest dobry – widoczne są przetarcia i rysy na oksydzie oraz „plamka” koło daty. Napis „Gesichert” jest ciągle widoczny. Przewód lufy jest w dobrej kondycji, z obecnością niewielkich wżerów.
Pistolet Parabellum — lub Parabellum-Pistole (Pistol Parabellum), powszechnie znany jako po prostu Luger lub Luger P08 to półautomatyczny pistolet z blokadą dźwigni i odrzutem. Luger był produkowany w kilku modelach i przez kilka krajów od 1898 do 1949 roku.
W 1899 roku rozpoczęto produkcję w zakładach Deutsche Waffen- und Munitions Fabriken AG (DWM) w Karlsruhe. Produkcję rozpoczęto od kalibru 7,65mm Parabellum, wersje kalibru 9mm Parabellum powstały w 1906 roku.
