Karabinek Sig Sauer M400 TREAD to klasyczny AR15.Broń wyposażona jest w znany z pierwowzoru system gazowy z bezpośrednim działaniem gazów na suwadło (tzw. DI) o długości Carbine. W karabinku zainstalowana jest lufa kuta na zimno o długości 11,5” z gwintem o skoku 1:7, wykonana ze stali pokrytej azotkiem tytanu i wyposażona w urządzenie wylotowe typu A2 osadzone na gwincie 1/2-28.
