De Muffin Blik is bijzonder praktisch in gebruik in de Petromax Dutch Ovens ft6 of ft9. Zo kun je zowel kolen op het deksel als onder de Dutch Oven leggen voor voldoende boven- en onderwarmte en worden de muffins gelijkmatig gebakken. Door deze muffinoven te gebruiken, moet worden opgemerkt dat tijdens het gebruik van de Dutch Oven ft9 een gietijzeren stapelrooster of Trivet, zoals de ftus, in de pot moet worden geplaatst voordat de Muffin Blik wordt geplaatst. Dit is nodig zodat er een klein gaatje overblijft tussen het gietijzer van het blik en dat van de Dutch Oven.
