Gunfinder offers its members the possibility to buy and sell goods via an auction process. Below we briefly explain how the process works.

How do I create an auction?

Gunfinder auctions are currently in a beta phase. Therefore, the ability to sell via auction on Gunfinder is only available to selected dealers. If you are interested in participating in the beta phase, please send us a short email.

How can I bid on an auction?

If you have found an auction you like, you will find a big green button on the auction page that says "Bid now". After a click you will see a new smaller window where you can enter your bid.
You have 2 options here: Either you just enter the next highest bid, or you enter the maximum you are willing to pay for the auction. In the latter case, our automatic bidding agent will take care of everything else.
 

How does the bidding agent work?

The bidding agent is a useful tool that helps you bid.
Let's assume that an auction currently has a price of 10 Euro. If you want to use the bidding agent, you simply enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend for this auction. The bidding agent will then bid the next highest bid for you, so that you are the highest bidder.
If someone else is interested in the auction and bids, the bidding agent will try to outbid your competitors until your maximum bid is reached.

 

Bidding steps

To bid in an auction, your bid must be a certain amount higher than the current bid. The amount by which your bid must be higher can be seen in the following table:

Example:

The current bid is 241 Euro. Your bid must then be at least 242 euros (241 + 1).

How do I see my current bid for an auction?

If you have already bid on an auction, we will show you a big box on the auction page. This tells you both your current bid and your highest bid (for the bidding agent). Additionally we inform you if you are the highest bidder or if you have to add something to your bid.

What happens after an auction has ended?

Once the auction has ended, the auction is closed for further bids.
The bidder with the highest bid wins the auction at that moment.
 

Winner

If you are the lucky winner of an auction, we will inform you immediately by e-mail. In this email you will find a link that will take you to the Gunfinder messaging system. There you can immediately discuss all necessary details with the seller via chat.

Loser

If your bid was not enough this time, we will still inform you by e-mail.
