Gunfinder offers its members the opportunity to buy and sell goods through an auction process. Below, we briefly explain how the process works.
How do I create an auction?
Gunfinder auctions are currently in a beta phase. Therefore, the option to sell via auctions on Gunfinder is only available to selected dealers. If you are interested in participating in the beta phase, feel free to send us a short email.
How can I bid on an auction?
If you have found an auction that you like, you will find a large green button on the auction page that says “Bid Now.” After clicking, a new smaller window will appear where you can enter your bid.
You have 2 options here: Either you enter just the next higher bid, or you enter what you are willing to pay at most for the auction. In the latter case, our automatic bidding agent will take care of everything else.
How does the bidding agent work?
The bidding agent is a useful tool that helps you with bidding.
Suppose an auction is currently at 10 euros. If you want to use the bidding agent, simply enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend on this auction as your bid. The bidding agent will then place the next higher bid for you, so that you are the highest bidder.
If someone else is interested in the auction and bids, the bidding agent will try to outbid your competitors for you until your maximum bid is reached.
Bidding Steps
To bid in an auction, your bid must be higher than the current bid by a certain amount. The amount by which your bid must be higher can be found in the following table:

Example:
The current bid is 241 euros. Your bid must then be at least 242 euros (241 + 1).
How do I see my current bid for an auction?
If you have already placed a bid on an auction, we will show you a large box on the auction page. This box informs you of both your current bid and your maximum bid (for the bidding agent). Additionally, we will inform you whether you are currently the highest bidder or if you need to increase your bid.
What happens after an auction ends?
Once the auction has ended, it is closed for further bids.
The bidder with the highest bid wins the auction at that moment.
Winner
If you are the lucky winner of an auction, we will inform you immediately via email. In this email, you will find a link that takes you to the Gunfinder messaging system. There, you can easily discuss all necessary details with the seller via chat.
Loser
If your bid was not sufficient this time, we will still inform you about it via email.
