The Peltonen M95 Ranger Puukko was designed by Juha-Pekka Peltonen. He served as an observer for the Finnish Armed Forces during the UN observer mission in southern Lebanon and considered a new operational knife that can withstand adverse weather conditions and tough operational demands, is functional, and also affordable. The knife, together with the slightly larger original version, has been on the market for many years and is now also available in Germany. The knife is used by Finnish and Swedish special forces.

Functionality is the key feature of the M95. The reliable retention of the knife in the sheath in all military-standard carrying methods is crucial for the operational suitability of a military knife. Good handling and grip in cold and wet conditions, especially in Nordic and Arctic operational areas, are also important. This is ensured by the handle wrapped with TPE plastic up to the tang.

The knife features a strong spine that provides stability when levering. High cutting ability is ensured by the thin 40-degree edge. To achieve high corrosion resistance, the version offered here is coated with Black Cerakote.

Peltonen knives are, of course, not exclusively available for military use but are also ideal for hunters, bushcrafters, and outdoor enthusiasts in any climate zone.

Das Peltonen M95 Ranger Puukko wurde von Juha-Pekka Peltonen entworfen. Dieser war als Beobachter der finnischen Streitkräften während der UN-Beobachter-Mission im Südlibanon eingesetzt und hat sich gedanken über ein neues Einsatzmesser gemacht, welches widrigen Witterungslagen und harten Einsatzbedingungen trotzen kann, funktional ist und zudem preisgünstig. Das Messer ist gemeinsam mit der etwas größeren Ursprungsvariante seit vielen Jahren auf dem Markt und jetzt auch in Deutschland verfügbar. Das Messer ist bei finnischen und schwedischen Spezialkräften im Einsatz.

Funktionalität ist das entscheidende Merkmal des M95. Der verlässliche Halt des Messers in der Scheide bei allen militärisch üblichen Trage-
weisen ist entscheidend für die Einsatztauglichkeit eines militärischen Messers. Wichtig ist auch die gute Handlage und Griffigkeit bei Kälte und Nässe, vor allem in nordischen und arktischen Einsatzgebieten. Dafür sorgt der bis zur Angel mit TPE-Kunststoff umhüllte Griff.

Das Messer verfügt über einen starken KLingenrücken der für Stabilität beim Hebeln sorgt. Eine hohe Schneidfähigkeit ist durch die dünne 40-Grad-Schneide gewährleistet. Um hohen Korrosionsschutz zu erreichen ist die hier angebotene Variante mit Black Cerakote Beschichtung versehen.

Die Messer von Peltonen sind natürlich nicht ausschließlich für den militärischen Gebrauch verfügbar, sondern sind ebenso ideal für Jäger, Bushcrafter und Outdoor-Freunde in jeder Klimazone.
