Vortex Pro Rifle Clamp · Arca-Swiss · 3/8-16 Reversible tripod mount for stocks without fixed Arca rail The Pro Rifle Clamp solves a very specific problem: to hold a rifle steadily on a tripod without having to mount a permanent Arca rail on the stock. It doesn’t replace a good tripod – it creates the interface between stock and tripod system.

Our honest assessment
The clamp is more universal than a fixed Arca rail, but also bulkier and slower when changing positions. For frequently changing rifles or non-modifiable stocks, this is an advantage; for a permanent match/range setup, a fixed Arca solution can be sleeker.
Fits well / fits less well

Fits well if … you want to use a rifle without a fixed Arca interface on a suitable tripod, switch between several stocks, or prefer a reversible solution.

Fits less well if … a fixed Arca rail is already present, extremely fast position changes are needed, or stock shape and attachments don’t allow a uniform clamping surface.

Features with practical impact

Tool-free stock clamping No permanent modification to the stock needed. The clamp remains flexibly usable between suitable systems.

Arca-Swiss / 3/8-16 The tripod interface fits many established support systems. The key is that the head and adapter are actually compatible.

Magnesium housing Designed for high stiffness with moderate weight; the clamp itself weighs about 408 g.

44
lb Manufacturer Load The stated maximum load applies to the clamp. The entire system is only as strong as the tripod, head, adapter, and contact surface combined.

Limits, Disadvantages, and Avoiding Bad Purchases

Stock Shape Matters Strongly contoured undersides, magazines, sling swivels, or bipod mounts can prevent a secure clamping position.

More Volume than Fixed Arca Versatility costs packing size and extra handling when clamping and unclamping.

Tripod Remains the Limiting Factor Play or vibration in legs and head cannot be compensated by the clamp.

Load Rating Not Transferable 44 lb is not a clearance for every tripod combination. Always observe the lowest load limit of the entire chain.

Technical Data with Practical Interpretation

Material Magnesium – stiff, comparatively lightweight construction.

Dimensions approx. 7.6 cm long, 8.6 cm high, and depending on clamp position approx. 10.9–15.0 cm wide.

Weight approx. 408 g – include in total load for mobile setups.

Maximum Load 44 lb / about 20 kg according to Vortex – applies to the clamp, not automatically to tripod or head.

Tripod Interface Arca-Swiss and 3/8-16 compatible systems.

Operation Tool-free stock clamping without permanent modification.

Scope of Delivery
Vortex Pro Rifle Clamp with integrated mechanical tripod interface. Additional adapters may be required depending on the existing tripod head.
FAQ
Do I need an Arca rail on the rifle? No. The clamp grips the suitable stock directly and connects to the tripod. Does it fit every rifle? No. Stock shape, attachments, and available contact surface must allow secure, even clamping. Can the entire combination carry 20 kg? Not automatically. The actual limit is determined by the weakest component among clamp, head, adapter, and tripod. When is a fixed Arca rail better? For a permanently consistent setup, it can be slimmer, faster, and more reproducible.

Black Raptor · System Instead of Single Part The Pro Rifle Clamp makes sense when flexibility is more important than the slimmest permanent solution. Those who already have a clean fixed Arca interface usually gain less from the additional clamp. (Show description in original language)

Arca-Swiss / 3/8-16 Die Stativschnittstelle passt in viele etablierte Support-Systeme.
