If full rail length is really needed on the left, right, and bottom of the G36 handguard, this set provides three equivalent Picatinny surfaces. Each of the three aluminum rails offers 13 numbered slots. This means the position of an attachment is not limited to a short section and can be found again after disassembly by the slot number.
The rails are mounted at the designated G36 attachment points; each has two screw holes. This makes them a platform-specific upgrade solution and not a universal adapter for M-LOK, KeyMod, or any receiver rail.
What three long rails practically change
With 13 slots each, the same length adjustment range is available at all three positions. This is useful when accessories should not only sit compactly in a fixed spot but need to be adjusted along the handguard for hand position, switch reach, or support. The identical length also simplifies documenting reproducible setups.
The downside is just as concrete: long side rails widen the contact area over a greater distance and bring more unused rail surface if only a small accessory is mounted there. If only short mounts are needed on the sides, the linked mixed set is slimmer.
Construction and manufacturer data
Set division: three long Picatinny rails with 13 numbered slots each.
Dimensions per rail: 6.09 inches or 154.69 mm long and 0.37 inches or 9.3 mm high.
Weight per rail: 1.98 oz or 56 g according to the current Leapers model page.
Material: anodized aluminum; the current Leapers catalog specifies 6061-T6.
Attachment: two screw holes per rail, a total of eight hex screws and one 3-mm Allen key.
Torque: 17.5 in-lb for the M3 mounting screws.
Weight deliberately given as a single value: The current Leapers page states 56 g per rail. UTG Europe lists an older total value of 5.6 oz, which does not match three current single values mathematically. Therefore, no total weight is claimed here.
Our assessment
The reason to buy is not simply "more Picatinny," but free positioning on all three handguard sides. This pays off in a setup where the accessory position is determined by stop, grip, and operating path. If the side surfaces are only used sporadically, the extra length is more ballast and interference contour than an advantage.
The interface separation is important: Picatinny describes the mount for the later accessory. The connection to the handguard is made via the designated G36 mounting points. If these are missing or the hole pattern and contact surface do not fit, a Picatinny-compatible accessory does not make the rail set suitable.
Buy or not buy?
Buy if: a compatible G36 handguard with the designated attachment points is available, a long adjustment range is needed at all three positions, and the planned attachments
e use Picatinny.
Do not buy if: only short mounts are needed on the side, only one or two rails are required, the handguard exclusively offers M-LOK or KeyMod without suitable G36 points, or if you are actually looking for a scope top rail.
Instructor Tip
First test positions, then secure with torque: Work only on a safely unloaded platform. Hold the planned attachments at the intended slots and check grip clearance, switch reach, and obstruction contour in the actually used stops. Then tighten the M3 screws carefully to the Leapers specified value of 17.5 in-lb. The included Allen key does not measure this torque.
Two more product-specific user tips
Do not automatically fill all 13 slots: Choose the position based on hand position and operating path, not on visual symmetry. Note the numbered slots for each attachment; this way the setup can be reproduced after cleaning or conversion.
Test side rails in full grip: Check both long side surfaces with gloves, sling, and usual support. Free rail edges or screw heads must not interfere with the support hand, sling guide, or support point. If they do, the mixed set with short side rails is the more suitable limit.
Suitable active alternatives and additions
G36 set with two short rails – for two compact mounting surfaces without a long underside.
G36 set with one long and two short rails – if full longitudinal play is only needed underneath.
G36/SL8/MR243 carry handle top rail – another interface for the scope line instead of accessories on the handguard.

FAQ
Are all three rails the same length? Yes. Each rail has 13 numbered slots and measures 6.09 inches or 154.69 mm according to Leapers.
How heavy is a single rail? The current Leapers model page states 1.98 oz or 56 g per rail. A total value is not guaranteed due to a differing older UTG-Europe specification.
What torque does Leapers specify? For the M3 mounting screws, Leapers specifies 17.5 in-lb. The included 3 mm Allen key is not a torque wrench.
Can the set be mounted directly on M-LOK or KeyMod? No. It is designed for the intended G36 mounting points. Picatinny is the outer interface for accessories here, not the connection to the handguard.
When is the mixed rail set more useful? When a long rail is needed underneath but short mounting surfaces suffice on the sides. This leaves less unused rail length in the side grip area.
Is this set a scope top rail? No. It creates accessory surfaces on the suitable G36 handguard. For the scope line on the carry handle, the linked top rail is the appropriate product class.
