Nordik Hazel Grouse is made of plastic, so the cold feeling on the lips is not as strong as with steel call whistles.
How to call:
Hazel Grouse is best called during the growing season before the snow, but you can call all year round. Try to find the territory of the hazel grouse; they feel comfortable in mixed forests, especially near moors, swamps, and streams, so try calling in these environments. It also works if you walk until you encounter a hazel grouse, then sit nearby and call, as they rarely fly far.
A face and hand camouflage increases the chances of a successful hunt. Sit well hidden but with a good view. Wait quietly for a while and then call in intervals of a few minutes. Give the spot 15 minutes, even if you hear nothing. Some hazel grouse come in without a response, and they can walk on the ground. When you then change location, you should move at least 200 m.
Sounds:
The call of the hazel grouse can be described as a rhyme with sharp peeping tones, consisting of 2 longer tones followed by a chirp "Tiiiiiii-tiiii-titi-ti-ti", with the rhyme making a "turnaround" in the middle and then decreasing in volume. The tones should be clean and quickly cut off; if it doesn't work with air bursts, a finger can be used on the hole of the whistle. If you get a response, try to imitate these sounds. But don't call too much!
If you respond to the whistles of the hazel grouse, it can lead to a whistle duel that never ends. If you remain silent instead, the hazel grouse will become curious and eventually come closer.

Nordik Hazel Grouse ist aus Kunststoff gefertigt, so dass das kalte Gefühl auf den Lippen nicht so stark ist wie bei Lockpfeifen aus Stahl.
Wie man lockt:
Hazel Grouse lockt man am besten während der Vegetationszeit vor dem Schnee, aber man kann das ganze Jahr über locken. Versuche das Revier der Haselhühner zu finden, sie fühlen sich in Mischwäldern, gerne in der Nähe von Mooren, Sümpfen und Bachläufen wohl, also versuche in diesen Umgebungen zu locken. Es funktioniert auch, wenn man geht, bis man auf ein Haselhuhn stößt, und sich dann in der Nähe setzt und lockt, da sie selten weit fliegen.
Ein Gesichts- und Handtarnung erhöht die Chancen auf eine erfolgreiche Jagd. Setze dich gut versteckt, aber mit guter Sicht. Warte eine Weile ruhig und locke dann in Intervallen von ein paar Minuten. Gib der Stelle 15 Minuten Zeit, auch wenn du nichts hörst. Einige Haselhühner kommen auch ohne Antwort herein und sie können am Boden laufen. Wenn du dann den Standort wechselst, solltest du dich mindestens 200 m bewegen.
Töne:
Der Ruf des Haselhuhns kann als ein Reim mit spitzen piependen Tönen beschrieben werden, der aus 2 längeren Tönen gefolgt von einem Zirpen besteht "Tiiiiiii-tiiii-titi-ti-ti ", wobei der Reim in der Mitte eine "Kehrtwende" macht und dann an Lautstärke abnimmt. Die Töne sollten sauber und schnell abgeschnitten werden, wenn es nicht mit Luftstößen gelingt, kann ein Finger auf das Loch der Pfeife verwendet werden. Wenn du eine Antwort bekommst, versuche diese Töne nachzuahmen. Aber locke nicht zu viel!
Wenn du auf die Pfiffe des Haselhuhns antwortest, kann es zu einem Pfeifenduell kommen, das nie endet.
Wenn du stattdessen still bist, wird das Haselhuhn neugierig werden und schließlich näher kommen.
