- the expansion grooves in the projectile opening ensure uniform mushrooming and direct stopping power,
- the expansion chamber allows mushrooming to occur in a controlled manner up to the optimal diameter, and
- the expansion stop results in a high residual weight, which ensures a safe exit wound.
