Therefore, Minox has combined a powerful optical system with a laser rangefinder in its two X-range binoculars, all at an excellent price-performance ratio. This puts an end to guessing.

The Optics
The X-range 10x42 binocular achieves its excellent imaging performance through high-quality multi-coated ED lenses, which effectively compensate for chromatic aberration and provide sharp and detailed images without color fringing all the way to the edge of the field of view. The close focus range is 4 m, and the field of view is 106 m at 1,000 m.

The Housing
The robust and non-slip housing is made of magnesium, securely encasing the sensitive optics while remaining lightweight, which is an important criterion for a hunting binocular that one carries in the field at all times. The instrument impresses with its ergonomically sensible proportions and feels pleasant in the hand. The eyecups are twist-up. The binocular is filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging and is waterproof according to IPX7 class.

The Laser Rangefinder
The laser rangefinder has a maximum measuring range of 2,800 m for large objects and 1,600 m for game. This makes it suitable for all types of hunting – even in the mountains with angle correction. The rangefinder is operated with two buttons located on top of the bridge. One button controls the menu, while the other is for measurement. The assignment of the two buttons can be swapped, making the X-range suitable for both right- and left-handed users. Operation can also be done with one hand.

Die Optik
Das X-range 10x42-Fernglas erreicht seine hervorragende Abbildungsleistung durch hochwertige mehrschichtenvergütete ED-Linsen, die wirkungsvoll die chromatische Aberration kompensieren und ohne Farbsäume bis an den Rand des Sichtfelds scharfe und detailreiche Bilder liefern. Der Naheinstellbereich liegt bei 4 m, das Sehfeld bei 106 m auf 1.000 m.

Das Gehäuse
Das robuste und rutschfeste Gehäuse ist aus Magnesium gefertigt, umfasst sicher die empfindliche Optik und ist dabei zugleich leicht, was für ein Jagdfernglas, das man im Revier stets bei sich trägt, ein wichtiges Kriterium ist. Damit kann er für jede Art der Jagd eingesetzt werden – mit der Winkelkorrektur sogar in den Bergen. Bedient wird der Entfernungsmesser mit zwei Drucktasten oben auf der Brücke. Eine Taste steuert das Menü, die andere ist für die Messung. Die Belegung der beiden Tasten kann ausgetauscht werden, so dass das X-range für Rechts- und Linkshänder geeignet ist. Die Bedienung kann auch einhändig erfolgen.
