The RWE 88 Erfurt is a variant of the Gewehr 88, also known as the "commission rifle," which was developed by the German rifle testing commission at the end of the 19th century. The manufacturer is the Royal Rifle Factory Erfurt (one of several production sites). The year of manufacture is 1890. The weapon received its proof in the German Empire in 1891 with the stamps UEG. The condition of the weapon is consistent with its age.

Die RWE 88 Erfurt ist eine Variante des Gewehrs 88, auch bekannt als „Kommissionsgewehr“, das Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts von der deutschen Gewehr-Prüfungskommission entwickelt wurde. Der Hersteller ist die Königliche Gewehrfabrik Erfurt (eine von mehreren Produktionsstätten). Das Baujahr ist 1890. Ihren Beschuß hat die Waffe im deutschen Reich 1891 mit den Stempeln UEG erhalten. Der Zustand der Waffe ist dem Alter entsprechend.
