The APC308 PRO is a self-loading rifle in caliber .308 Win. The weapon is an indirect gas-operated loader with a short-stroke gas piston: A gas extraction near the muzzle briefly directs the propellant gases behind the projectile via the gas piston to the bolt carrier, setting it into a rearward motion. After the projectile exits, the rearward-moving bolt carrier unlocks the bolt head through a rotational movement and carries it along. In the joint rearward motion of the bolt head and carrier, the empty casing is extracted and ejected, the hammer is cocked, and the closing spring is compressed. At the end of the rearward motion, a buffer slows down the bolt carrier before the closing spring accelerates it forward again. In the joint forward motion, the bolt head and carrier take a new cartridge from the magazine and chamber it into the cartridge chamber. At the end of such a cycle, the weapon is locked, loaded, and cocked. All controls such as the bolt catch, magazine release, fire selector lever, and charging handle are designed to be ambidextrous. The charging handle is non-reciprocating.

Die APC308 PRO ist eine Selbstladebüchse im Kaliber .308 Win. Die Waffe ist ein indirekter Gasdrucklader mit Kurzhubgaskolben: Eine Gasentnahme nahe der Mündung lenkt die Antriebsgase hinter dem Geschoss kurzzeitig via Gaskolben auf den Verschlussträger und ver- setzt diesen in eine rücklaufende Bewegung. Nach Abgang des Geschosses entriegelt der rücklaufende Verschlussträger durch eine Drehbewegung den Verschlusskopf und nimmt diesen mit. Im gemeinsamen Rücklauf von Verschlusskopf und -träger wird die leere Hülse ausgezogen und ausgeworfen, der Hammer gespannt und die Schliessfeder komprimiert. Am Ende des Rücklaufes bremst ein Stossdämpfer Ver- schlussträger ab, bevor die Schliessfeder ihn wieder nach vorne beschleunigt. Im gemeinsamen Vorlauf nehmen Verschlusskopf und -träger eine neue Patrone aus dem Magazin und führen sie in das Patronen- lager. Am Ende eines solchen Zyklus ist die Waffe verriegelt, geladen und gespannt. Alle Bedienelemente wie Verschlussfang, Magazinhalter, Feuerwahlhebel und Ladegriff sind beidseitig bedienbar ausgeführt. Der Ladegriff ist nicht mitlaufend.
