Item description
For sale is an absolute gem of American revolver history: A Smith & Wesson Model 66-3 in the powerful universal caliber .357 Magnum (of course also suitable for the cost-effective .38 Special).
The Model 66 is the legendary stainless steel variant (Stainless Steel) of the famous K-frame classic Model 19. The 66-3 version is considered by experts to be one of the best series ever: It combines the optimized, more robust mechanics of the late generation with the classic, traditional S&W design. The firing pin here still sits classically directly on the hammer and there is no annoying, modern internal lock.
Historical background & collector's value
The introduction of the K-frame in stainless steel in 1970 (Model 66) revolutionized the market for service and sporting weapons. Made from corrosion-resistant steel, this weapon offered the perfect answer to corrosion problems in tough police everyday life. The Dash-3 modification presented here was introduced from 1986 to 1988 and brought important technical improvements such as the changed modern sighting system and a new hammer nose design, without sacrificing the traditional old-school manufacturing quality. The serial number BFF0035 places production in this coveted transitional era.
The highlights of this revolver:
Condition 2+ (Excellent): The weapon is in excellent condition and has been fired very little. The matte satin stainless finish is beautifully evenly preserved and shows only minimal, unavoidable handling marks. No deep scratches or dents!
100% original condition with wooden grips: While most revolvers of this era were converted to rubber grips, this specimen still has the original S&W target wooden grip panels with fine checkering and the classic S&W medallions. A massive plus for value retention and collector's value!
Polished top barrel & perfect mechanics: The inside of the barrel is mirror bright, the lands and grooves are razor sharp. The timing of the cylinder is excellent, the cylinder gap is minimal.
International CIP proof (1991): The weapon has the official Belgian proof from 1991 (Proof House Liège), which is fully recognized in Germany thanks to the CIP agreement. The weapon is ready to use immediately and without additional costs at any shooting range.
Equipment:
Adjustable S&W micrometer sight (rear sight and red ramp front sight for quick acquisition)
Legendary, buttery smooth lockwork in single-action and double-action mode
Robust K-frame made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel
Conclusion: An S&W K-frame revolver in stainless steel in this flawless original condition and this manufacturing quality is no longer produced today. Perfect as a value-stable collector's item, as a precise companion at the shooting range, or as a reliable coup de grâce weapon for the hunter.

Artikelbeschreibung
