Short, handy barrels are increasingly gaining popularity among hunters. This trend is supported by the growing use of suppressors.
Standard ammunition is designed for common barrel lengths of 600 mm.
When firing standard ammunition from short barrels (420 mm to 550 mm), the following disadvantages become apparent:
Energy and velocity loss, limited effectiveness, pronounced muzzle flash, loud muzzle report, and increased wear on suppressors.
Therefore, RWS has developed a cartridge that is specifically optimized for use in short barrels.
In practice, this means: shooting from short barrels without loss of performance.
The RWS HIT bullet was developed as a lead-free alternative primarily for hunters who prefer fragment-free projectiles.
Despite the quick response of our new lead-free bullet, the expanded residual body remains mass-stable.
This guarantees high penetration and reliable exit even at very high impact velocities and/or large target resistances - e.g., in bone hits.
The bullet is suitable for all native game species but performs best in the medium to large game category.
Unlike expansion bullets, the lead-free and mass-stable RWS HIT bullet releases its energy exclusively through 100% fragment-free expansion in the game body.
The result: optimal game meat utilization.

The innovative bullet tip of the RWS HIT serves two important functions:
Its streamlined shape achieves an improved BC value and a flatter trajectory.

The interaction of the two hollow chambers results in a lightning-fast expansion of the entire bullet front.
This guarantees a high shock effect and gives you the confidence to bring down the shot game as quickly as possible.
RWS ACC (bullet construction with a hollow tip)
The Active-Crater-Cavity (ACC) optimally absorbs the initial deformation triggered by the bullet tip (TC-Tip) and actively converts it into an even further accelerated deformation process of the bullet.
The result: a perfect, fragment-free expansion with predefined flag formation directly upon impact with the game body.

Zunehmend gewinnen kurze, führige Läufe an Beliebtheit in der Jägerschaft. Dieser Trend wird durch die zunehmende Verwendung von Schalldämpfern unterstützt.
Standardmunition ist auf gängige Lauflängen von 600 mm ausgelegt.
Beim Verschießen von Standardmunition aus kurzen Läufen (420 mm bis 550 mm) zeigen sich folgende Nachteile:
Energie- und Geschwindigkeitsverlust, eingeschränkte Wirksamkeit, ausgeprägtes Mündungsfeuer, lauter Mündungsknall und erhöhte Abnutzung bei Schalldämpfern.
RWS hat deshalb eine Patrone entwickelt, die speziell für die Verwendung aus kurzen Läufen optimiert ist.
In der Praxis bedeutet das: Schießen aus kurzen Läufen ohne Leistungseinbußen.
Das RWS HIT-Geschoss wurde als bleifreie Alternative vor allem für die Jäger entwickelt, die splitterfreie Geschosse bevorzugen.
Trotz schnellem Ansprechen unseres neuen, bleifreien Geschosses bleibt der aufgepilzte Restkörper massestabil.
Das garantiert auch bei sehr hohen Auftreffgeschwindigkeiten und/oder großen Zielwiderständen - z.B. bei Knochentreffern - eine hohe Tiefenwirkung und sicheren Ausschuss.
Das Geschoss eignet sich für alle heimischen Wildarten, spielt seine Stärken jedoch am besten im Bereich mittelschweres bis starkes Wild aus.
Anders als Zerlegungsgeschosse gibt das bleifreie und massestabile RWS HIT-Geschoss seine Energie ausschließlich durch 100% splitterfreies Aufpilzen im Wildkörper ab.
