Countless pieces of roe deer have already been taken with the legendary GECO partial jacket. The projectile is universally applicable and capable of handling almost all hunting situations. It reliably penetrates the game body and has good terminal ballistic performance. The thin-walled projectile jacket is the secret of this successful construction. The deformation is initiated by the pronounced lead tip, and the jacket adapts to the target resistance. For large game, the deformation process is only limitedly controllable, so one cannot always expect an exit wound.
The sister cartridge introduced in 1893 for the 7 x 57 with a rim was developed for combination hunting weapons. The hunting use has always been in the foreground here - even though today the caliber has lost its significance for shooting from modern weapons. GECO offers a standard load with the 10.7 g partial jacket projectile that meets all requirements. The performance is flawless with well-placed hits. For this reason, there is now also the GECO ZERO (lead-free) with 8.2 g in this caliber.

Unzählige Stücke Rehwild sind bereits mit dem legendären GECO Teilmantel erlegt worden. Das Geschoss ist universell einsetzbar und fast allen jagdlichen Situationen gewachsen. Es spricht zuverlässig im Wildkörper an und verfügt über eine gute zielballistische Wirkung. Der dünnwandige Geschossmantel ist das Geheimnis dieser erfolgreichen Konstruktion. Die Deformation wird von der ausgeprägten Bleispitze eingeleitet und der Mantel passt sich dem Zielwiderstand an. Auf starkes Wild ist der Deformationsprozess nur begrenzt steuerbar, so dass nicht immer mit einem Ausschuss gerechnet werden kann.
Die im Jahre 1893 zur 7 x 57 vorgestellte Schwesterpatrone mit Rand wurde für kombinierte Jagdwaffen entwickelt.
Die jagdliche Verwendung stand hier immer im Vordergrund - wenn auch heute das Kaliber seine Bedeutung für das Schießen aus modernen Waffen verloren hat. GECO bietet mit dem 10,7 g schweren Teilmantel-Geschoss eine allen Ansprüchen genügende Standardlaborierung an. Die Wirkung ist bei gut platzierten Treffern tadellos. Aus diesem Grund gibt es jetzt auch das GECO ZERO (bleifrei) mit 8,2 g in diesem Kaliber.
