This special variant of the Rottweil Hunting brown is ideal for successful shots at short distances, e.g., during forest hunting or on incoming ducks. Rottweil was the first shotgun cartridge manufacturer to have the idea of using the scatter cross, originally designed for clay pigeon shooting, in hunting as well. The scatter cross ensures a large-area coverage of the shot cloud up to about 25 m, thereby increasing the chance of hitting. This property prevents game meat loss.

Rottweil hatte als erster Schrotpatronen-Hersteller die Idee das ursprünglich für das Wurftaubenschießen konzipierte Streukreuz auch bei der Jagd einzusetzen. Das Streukreuz bewirkt eine großflächige Deckung der Schrotgarbe bis ca. 25 m und erhöht damit die Trefferchance. Diese Eigenschaft bewahrt vor Wildbretverlust.
