ELD-X: Tepelný hrot střely, ověřený Dopplerovým radarem, je odolný vůči účinkům aerodynamického zahřívání a udržuje si svůj tvar, aby si po celé své trajekrorii udržel nejvyšší balistický koeficient ve své kategorii. Zjednodušený sečný, zašpičatělý konec secant ogival s optimálním designem se zúženou zádí, vysoce koncentrické plaště střely a hrot Heat je kombinací výrazně lepší balistické účinnosti. Při nárazu o vysoké rychlosti 0-365 m/s se střela neustále otevírá po celé své penetrační dráze. Silný dřík pláště a vnitrní kroužek udržují jádro a plášť pohromadě a poskytují 50-60% zachování hmotnosti. Při nižších rychlostech nárazu od 365 m/s a více se Heat Shield vmáčkne do střely čímž zahájí expanze. Střela dosahuje kontrolovaně velké deformace a ponechává si 85-90% penetrační hmotnosti při zajištění průbojného účinku a velké střelné rány.
